Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

Youtube Thumbnail for this week's episode

It's also a Defiant class bridge. I'm 99% sure it's going to be the Section 31 one we saw seasons ago.

You're burying the lede!

Commander Boimler of Section 31! I was hoping we'd see him again before the show ended. At least hopefully it's prime William Boimler and not an alt-Boimler.

I don't know if that storyline will get closure, but I'm glad he didn't just disappear with no follow-up.

So they wear
the black badge officially in the late 24th century too? :brickwall:
And that front guy's jacket looks familiar...

Yeah, I too think it looks familiar somehow, although I can’t place it exactly. The high collar, wide shoulder vest combo in Earth tones does remind me a bit of the civilian clothes they often had people from the Maquis wear on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. But I can’t find an exact match.

Section 31's black badges were already seen in season 3. William Boimler even made a meta joke about them mirroring all the complaints fandom has made about them since they were introduced on Disco.

The perfect example of Trekkie blindness is that they mock the black badges relentlessly.

Then COMPLETELY FORGET that in DS9 Section 31 wears Nazi turtlenecks as a full uniform.

With the finale tonight I'm kinda bummed we never got a "Crisis Point 3" episode. just as a way to close out the Trilogy.

Season 5 is coming to Blu-ray on March 25.

With the Skydance acquisition and massive layoffs across Paramount in the meantime, there'd been some speculation in the physical media collecting community that new Paramount releases might slow down or even come to a standstill. It's great all of STLD can get over the line before any major changes take effect.

Trekcore finally has some info about the hotly anticipated (at least by me) Lower Decks artbook we’ll be getting in July. Not much yet other than a short blurb about what its content will be and what I assume/hope to be temp cover art …

By the way, does anyone know if writer Megan Treviño is somehow related to Jesús Salvador Treviño?

The Art of Star Trek: Lower Decks arrives in July from longtime Trek comic home IDW Publishing, where Megan Treviño dives into the design of the now-concluded animated series.

Climb aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos with its crew in this special look at the art of the critically acclaimed animated series. With special sections focusing on characters, ships, backgrounds, and scenery, you’ll know the lower decks better than the crew!

Also included will be interviews with members of the art team, who provide special insights into the making of the series and the art process.
The Art of Star Trek: Lower Decks beams down July 8 and is available for preorder today.

A lot of artwork went into the mobile game (which I can't play anymore), so I hope it's gonna go into that book as well
