Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

Im guessing August 12 will be the beginning of a long run of Trek: Lower Decks, Prodigy, Discovery, Picard. If it’s ready after that, Strange New Worlds?

At least 40 weeks of new Trek?

Prodigy's a bit of a wild card since it's Nickelodeon and won't necessarily conform to the line up. Anyway, my guess concerning the Paramount+ shows is that with the Lower Decks finale airing on October 14, Disco's premiere will be on October 21 and its finale December 23. Then I imagine they'll take a break for a few weeks and Picard will premiere mid to late January 2022.

We still have no idea when we may be getting Strange New Worlds. There was some signs of production around the same time as Discovery S4, but the official announcement came later. So will it be 2021, or early 2022?

My guess is either right before or right after Picard.

SNW only started filming something like three weeks ago, so we definitely aren't seeing that until sometime in 2022.

PRO will probably start airing on 27 May if there's a 1 week break between PRO and LD or 3 June if they go straight to LD without a break.
IIRC last year the full trailer for LD was released 1 month before the first episode aired, so I guess PRO's first trailer with the release date will be revealed at the and of April / beginning of May.

We’ve been told Prodigy, Disco and LDS are all premiering in 2021 and Picard in 2022. The only firm date we have is August 12. Presuming first, no breaks, and no overlaps and that they are all ready to move one into another, and that each show has a ten episode season (except for Disco which seemingly gets more so we’ll go with 13 like season 3), the shows potentially could run like this:

6/3 PRO 1x1
8/5 PRO 1x10
8/12 LDS 2x01
10/14 LDS 2x10
10/21 DSC 4x01
1/13 DSC 4x13
1/20 PIC 2x01
3/24 PIC 2x10
3/31 SNW 1x01
6/2 SNW 1x10

366 days of Trek! Now I don’t know that’s going to happen. I think we’d have a premiere date for Prodigy if it was only two months away, and even more so a trailer! I think there will be some overlap or a shorter season of Disco (10 episodes?) with Prodigy either premiering between LDS and Disco or after Disco. But who knows?

They said "Lower Decks season two will arrive on Thursday, August 12"

Is that begins on August 12 or all episodes dropping at once?

Yeah, I don't think they intend to move beyond the "XX weeks of Star Trek" promotion. It's also better to measure and utilize audience engagement on an episode-by-episode basis, at least until they've built up their empire enough to drop multiple series a month.
