I have CBSAA and will be watching the first episode tomorrow. If there's anything good, I'll try to make screencaps.

Ars Technica has a review up. It's pretty positive overall.
That's a well written review. And I can see myself being in agreement with most of it. Turning the fannish callback dial too far up will grow old fast. A couple of easter eggs here or there are one thing, but the characters constantly throwing random Trek trivia at us might be a turn-off in the long run. Will be interesting to see if they are striking a sensible balance.

Cryptic (the STO Devs) were also surprised that Lower Decks was being released so soon, they were told Fall, which also lines up with the Showrunner saying it was pushed up 2 months.

Makes sense. In the New World Disorder of social distancing, animated series can easily be all done in isolation while other live-action projects get suspended indefinitely.

Yea gotta keep it under wraps!
Engage maximum wrap.

The only thing I'm slightly worried about is this:
For example, we all know what Klingons look like in the live-action show. But we tried to push that look beyond that guy-in-the-costume look, because we are animated. We can make Klingons look even cooler!

We saw how that turned out in Disco. Another change, "even cooler", ...ugh.
They looked fine in the trailer though.

I understood that to mean they were able to give them bigger and more pronounced body types. I mean, look at the Bajoran Lt. Shaxs and how cartoonishly bulky and big they are drawing him compared to the other humanoid characters. I suspect that‘s similar to how Klingons will appear.

In a promotional image of Ensign Beckett at the conspiracy wall, there’s a photo of a Klingon in the bottom right corner.

Just checked the internet for news. So, has the North American premiere already happened, or not yet?

edit: According to Memory Alpha, Mariner served on a USS Quito.
