I just got Freaks and Geeks a couple days ago. I loved it so much, I ran through all 18 episodes in 2 days, pretty much. I've never connected more with characters (having myself straddled the line between freak and geek), felt more anxious about their predicaments, or been sadder about a show ending. Wow. I was amazed at how 70s-like 1980 was. What an incredible love letter and send-off to, musically, one of the greatest decades in recent history.
Also, the cast. I had no idea this was the start of some of the greats out there, or that Pineapple Express was actually a reunion movie for Franco and Rogen. Awesome!
I watched it for the first time a couple months ago, and I loved it! As much as I wish it would have continued, I thought the series actually told a really neat story, and the final episode really works as a good finish.
