Love interests on Voyager...

Man. The entire reason I started watching Voyager again was because of Tom & B'elanna.

One of my favorite episodes is the one in later seasons when Janeway decides to help that handful of crew member sthat were lagging behind...don't remember the name of it. But the girl- Tal Celes, I think, and some guy had a cute flirty thing going on that I think could have turned into a romance if they were in more than one episode.

and yea, I like Doctor & Seven more than the Chakotay/ Seven thing. There was no chemistry between the actors; the doctor and seven had chemistry, however.

As far as I can remember Q is the only person that got into Janeways bed, at least on Voyager :) However, in "Workforce Pts 1 and 2 it's hard to believe that Kathrine and Jaffin did not share some intiment time together...

Resistance is Futile

I regret that they didn't go for Harry/Seven. Could have been fun. Instead we ended up with Chakotay/Seven. Ugh.

No complains about B'Elanna/Tom though. In retrospect, it's funny how B'Elanna was sometimes outright disgusted by Tom Paris's behavior in Season 1. ;)

heh, yea. But it's one of those archetypal adventure romances- utter irritation turning to hesitant affection and then to romance. I could probably dig up plent of storylines like it.

I'm always secretly afraid I'll fall in love with someone who I find absolutely abhorrent.

And I just watched that episode (name is alluding me) where Chakotay fell in lurve on a planet with that ex-borg in Season three (the bald one who wears a blonde wig).

He obviously has a thing for blonde ex-borg-babes...

Apparently he finds them a nice distraction when he can't get a redhead. :D

Every Klingon romance is of the adventure sort; no matter who she got involved with, there would be irritation and fireworks.

I don't think I've ever quoted myself before , but here is what I noticed underlying that relationship, as I have said...

B'Elanna was often tempted to be short on patience; but not with loved ones. She always kept hoping her dad would come around, and she was prepared to put up with a lot for Tom.

Luckily, Tom realized in time what a wonderful person B'Elanna was and what he had in her. Tom had never quite given up hope that he'd be welcomed back into a family one day either. They found that in each other...

I'm a big fan of Unity; it's highly romantic. But it's true, it seemed more on her side than his. I don't think it was because of Kathryn, though, but rather because of distrust.

Just thinking how funny it was that Tom originally had the hots for Kes, but ended up with someone quite the opposite of her, in B'Elanna. And B'Elanna had a thing for Chakotay early on, and ended up with someone the opposite of him, with Tom... :)
There's nothing weird about being attracted to two diametrically opposed people. You don't love them for the types they represent.

And tough love? wanting to slap them? That's added spice.
There's a lot of 'love' going on in Voyager.
Including some stories no one mentioned yet. Like
-Kathryn with Michael Sullivan and even Kashyk, and of course that early episode with Chakotay;
-Kes with that attractive lone ranger with long black hair... I was sorry to see that going nowhere.
-Even Neelix finds a mate in the end.
-Tuvok has a bit of romance thrown his way too in that Lori Petti episode (and what do you know, his clothes happen to be sexier than usual!)

The list is not complete yet.
Chakotay [...]in the end, he loved Seven.
No he didn't. He was just written that way. :p

On the com together in the middle of the night, tucked under the covers? That was cute. Young love-like. This actress is now in Dirty Sexy Money - lovely as ever.
the doctor and seven had chemistry, however.
I'd like to say so. Possibly. But it's really unrequited love. The only thing I agree with about C/7 is that she indeed needs an alpha male of some kind to dominate her like Chakotay does in One Small Step (season 6) already.

The one Seven really has affinities with is Tuvok, but it's out of the question. No real chemistry, as a matter of fact. But were he available, I'd say it would be a whole different story.

I regret that they didn't go for Harry/Seven. Could have been fun.
Ha ha! Oh yes. Plenty of comedy there. And possibly two character arcs.
No complains about B'Elanna/Tom though. In retrospect, it's funny how B'Elanna was sometimes outright disgusted by Tom Paris's behavior in Season 1. ;)

Oh, it also happens in non-adventure real life all the time. It's just like that with men and women, oftentimes.
For the anecdote, I hated my first love as a teenager, and it scarred me for life!

Jeri, as usual, I agree with you. ;)

Word. Harry & Seven would have been awesome! Seven's bluntness, Harry's quirkiness, and both of their naiveness would have been pure comedy.

LOL that would rule, I thought Janeway and Chakotay should've been a couple.

I agree about Tuvok and seven! both being the perfecr ying/yang

Yes!! I'd always wanted a Seven/Tuvok match!

And a Harry/Seven is nice too, it would be quite comical.

I agree with you about Tuvok and Seven -- I have for years thought they were a good match. Those two had loads in common; I imagined they would start off with a friendship, and it would catch fire. I feel confident Tuvok would be able to keep her happy romantically, once his emotions were engaged. Tuvok had a big fire banked under all that reserve. And what a body! Whew. But alas, Tuvok was already taken. Poor Seven.

They would be so protective of each other, although I think there would be a little conflict over who the 'alpha' was. Y'know...the leader of the relationship?

Also, I think a Doctor/Seven would be nice. Good duets together, eh?

Aaand....a Doctor/Kes. After all, she was the one who inspired him to become more 'human' with his personality.

Janeway and Chakotay sort of showed it when they were stranded on the planet with that illness

You betcha! :)

Yup. I assumed that after they went for the hand-hug that they had sex that night.

Apparently in some novel, Chakotay and Janeway get married and have a daughter

Which one? Must be fanfiction...

Actually...while I haven't read it myself yet, one of the newer novels is set in an alternate universe where it does happen. (Myriad, I think?)

Yeah, I was surprised when I heard too. The Pocketbook writers have been throwing the J/C fans a few bones here and there lately, though. Aside from some throwaway lines that hint at more in some of the recent books, they also had a rather interesting storyline in one of the Mirror Universe, and one of the stories in Distant Shores was all about their relationship.
