LOST to take a break for the Winter Olympics?

Carlton Cuse says that LOST will be taking a two-week break for the Winter Olympics in mid-February. This hasn't been confirmed yet by ABC but I wouldn't be surprised if this is true.

As much as I enjoy watching the Winter Olympics, I want uninterrupted LOST! :scream: :(

Honestly I'd rather just wait the extra few weeks and debut the season after the Olympics are over. I know they want the finale to air during sweeps but is that really something the regular joe cares about anymore? "Oh, I'd watch the Lost finale but it's airing in June and not May? I'll pass, thank you."

...Or more obviously just postpone the Olympics.

Look on the bright side. Imagine what sort of mid-season cliffhanger we'd end up with.... :D

I wonder if they'll sneak in some Dharma/Oceanic/Apollo/Expose/etc. references into the Olympics coverage, just to play with our minds?

Or a polar bear. The Winter Olympics needs more polar bears. :D

Regular Joe? No. Networks for ad revenue? You bet. They can't say 'hold off on figuring that out until June'.

Do we even know when the show is returning? It will most likely come back for 3 episodes to take a break.

Screw the Olympics, I think more people will watch LOST than the WINTER Olympics any day.

Doubtful. There are certainly more sports fans than science-fiction (or drama) fans out there. I have nothing against the Winter Olympics and it's my favorite of the two Olympics. If I had to choose, I rather have LOST just start immediately after the Winter Olympics instead of getting a few episodes and then go on a two-week break.

They still care about the ratings? I thought it was the final season? Looks like ABC might not have gotten the memo.

We've only had uninterrupted Lost once in five years. I can deal.

We've never had an uninterrupted season of Lost. Even last year, there were a couple of weeks with no new episodes.

I don't see what the big deal is about taking a break during the Olympics. I'd actually prefer they start earlier even if it means a few weeks off during the season. I guess I'm in the minority though.

^No, I agree with you. I want LOST as soon as possible. I don't care if we have a week or two break. There are almost always interruptions in a season, so I don't mind one bit.

I just want LOST and I want it NOW, damn it. At least give me a few episodes so I can get my badly needed fix.

I forgot about those two weeks... it wasn't that bad though.

When is the first episode actually due to air?

And a two-week break is nothing compared to waiting from May till January for a new season to start. At least it's the Winter Olympics, something I'd actually watch. :D

Wasn't "uninterrupted LOST" the ONLY reason it was held off till January to begin with?

W.T.F.

Yep.

They should have shown 7-8-9 episodes in a row in the fall and then the last 7-8. How many episodes are there this season? I remember they kept adding some.
