Kate is my least favourite character, but I'm really looking forward to getting another peek at the new timeline. Last we saw her she jumped into a taxi with Claire.

The island storyline ought to be just as compelling too. Gimme Lost now!

Ditto. I can't stand Kate. She's hot, but her character is dumb and not intriguing at all. The only thing I'm hoping for is more answers. I pray since we are in the final season there will be no more filler episodes and all of them now are building up to the ending. The show is so complex and has so many unanswered questions there is no need for filler anymore period.

I have a limited 'wait and see' squee...Kate is my least fave character...so hopefully nuKate will impress me.

I hope by the end, both Sawyer and Jack reject her.

I'll add another "squee" to the chorus. I really HATE Kate at this point. Kate and Jack have actually become my LEAST favorite characters of the entire cast. However, more LOST is in on, and that makes me happy as HELL.

Voted poor. Boring as hell and as I said in the other thread, 16 or so (give or take) episodes left in the entire series and they're fucking around the same old "art of the stall" bullshit they've done for years.

Only average. I hate Kate stories, they're the least interesting.

The Jack/Sayid stuff was more interesting.

And that ending- whoa, psycho Claire!!

Average

Only voted this way because Josh Holloway gave a great performance that is the ying to Lilly's horrific yang.

Kudos also go to Naveen Andrews and Jorge Garcia for the zombie scene.

Why must Kate episodes always be so bad? :p I truly do not understand the reason for these flash-sideways. They just seem to be wasting precious remaining moments in the history of the series. It's like one huge what if story that doesn't count... As for the Island plot, not much happened but it was a twist that Sayid was NOT infected with Jacob but instead with the Sickness ie Cerebus. Also that Claire was similarly infected... since that would mean that Christian doesn't represent Jacob at ALL. Which I suppose makes sense since in S5 when Sun and Frank meet Christian he was preceded by the Cerebus sounds. But that calls into question everything we've been told from ghostly Christian. Hmm...

I gave it an "average." Some good moments (Jack-Sayid), some good surprises (Claire's "island return"), but the whole flash-sideways story was inexplicable. Claire really would latch onto Kate after Kate pointed a gun at her and threatened her? Really? C'mon. That's just too much of a stretch. And as much as Sawyer's grieving was very real, Kate's meddling felt ... like she was meddling ...

I voted Above Average. It didn't look like that at first. The episode had a meandering quality halfway through and Kate is completely unsalvagable as a character. But there were a number of good scenes...

-Jack and Sayid in the Temple
-Jack's way of getting Togan to reveal what was in the pill
-The return of Ethan, creepy as ever
-The terrific performance of Josh Holloway. Give this man an Emmy nomination already!
-The Claire reveal

I may give a more in-depth review later, but honestly what's the point? Even beyond it being a "Kate Episode", it was pretty languid overall and as Plomeek commented, we really should be moving past all that by this point. I don't really think the alt-reality stuff was handled well in this ep. Not at all. Maybe that's just the Kate effect.

The Sayid and Claire revelations were very exciting and deserved to be more at the center of this episode.

This was a massive drop in quality from the premiere (beyond the plot, the cinematography and even the music seemed off a bit) and has to rank in the top three worst post-premiere eps, IMO. The quality is going to have to go way up from here or I'll start getting really worried.

Hello, people? FINAL season!

I will say this to what Mr Light and Samuel commented (re: Flash-Sidways): I do think that there's far more to this than meets the eye and it will be revealed to have been central to the main arc of the season. It just wasn't done very well here (because of Kate/Lilly, mainly).

Below average. Now is not the time for pointless and hard to believe Kate crap. Also, the Japanese guy is wearing thin. He's a cartoon character. I have very little tolerance for him or his weiner second in command.

A waste of precious, dwndling time.

I agree with you. The problem isn't the flash-sideways as a plot device, it's in how this episode used it. Sideways flash or not, the events in that timeline still have to make some sort of sense. And here, the Kate-Claire interaction was wholly unbelievable. Maybe if they had toned down Kate's initial gun-waving hysteria (making her seem less threatening, and more like a victim) it would have worked a little better. But as it is, the notion that a pregnant woman would A) be sitting curbside with nothing to do and B) get in a cab with a former abductor, who is armed and quite possibly dangerous, is just a stupid idea.

I have high hopes for how the flash-sideways stories will fit into the overall series. But this was an obvious "miss."

Well to be fair, the characters clearly feel some connection to other and have a faint recollection of the real time line (Kate recognizing Aaron's name, etc). I'd imagine as this time waster goes on the character will be inexplicably drawn to each other and all join up together. And then Miss Hawking, guardian of the time stream, will help them course correct their way into oblivion or some such. Ugh, I'd rather be spending time with the real story, with Jacob and Cerebus and the Island's secrets.

We have had confirmation that the timelines will reconcile by the end of the series. Obviously they need to or there would be one very pissed off fanbase.

That being said, they picked two very boring plots and put them in the same episode, which didn't work well with me.

What's in this pill? - I'm not going to tell you.
What are you doing to Sayid? - I'm not going to tell you.
Who are you guys? - I'm not going to tell you.
What is this blackness? - I'm not going to tell you.

COME ON GUYS.

This is going to be one of these episodes that everyone will be apologizing for down the road. But... it'll play better when we have the DVDs of course.
