LOST 5x2 Question (Possible Spoiler)

I apologize if this has already been brought up. Towards the end of 5x2 did:

Jacob come out of the woods when Sawyer and Juliet were being held captive by the soldiers? I thought for a split second before Locke showed up that the camera showed a strange man coming out of the woods and I thought that might have been Jacob.

It was Locke. No Jacob. The hesitation and mystery was supposed to be the possibility that it's more soldiers coming out of the wood, methinks.
