Really, really freaky about the doctor and the whole time shift with the island. But...isn't the island usually behind the rest of the world time-wise, not ahead? Either way, freaky, freaky stuff.
Obviously the Island is ahead of the outside world at the moment. Or the time distortion field brought the body in now even though he might not be killed for another couple days at which time he'll be overboard and drift through the rift.

What would be neat is for Jack to make it to the boat, see the doctor alive, then witness him being killed. That would be so freaky.

Have Ben and Desmond even ever been in a scene together? Does Ben know that Desmond is with Penny? Cerberus has yet to scan Desmond. I think Desmond might play an even bigger role in the endgame of this show. GREAT EPISODE!

I definitely do not think that Cerebus is a Dharma creation.

When Ben snuck off to call/activate/lure Cerebus, he disappeared into an ancient looking tunnel covered in ancient looking hierogylphics. Not exactly something from the 1970s.

It's pretty clear now that the island is some sort of Atlantis-like entity. You know a leftover of an ancient civilization (extraterrestrial or Earth).

I think the island is in a kind of 'bubble' where it can be both ahead and behind real time.
Yes, but I think the skin of the bubble can cause a time difference for objects passing through.

When the boat shot the rocket it took quite a while, island time, for it to show up. When the helicopter left, it took quite a longer time, island time, to reach the boat. The doctor's body took negative time, island time, if indeed he really is alive as the boat people say.

So it seems that the skin of this bubble, perhaps which coordinates you cross through, dictate the time distortion.

But then again I could be full of crap.

I think that's really the only thing that makes sense... time on the inside and time on the outside are the same, but objects passing through whatever magical barrier is around the island either get thrown a bit forward or backward in time, possibly depending on their point of entry/egress. EM radiation/light/whatever isn't affected though, which is why the sun looks normal and why they can communicate with people off the island in real time.

Did you notice how Ben was 'steaming' when he landed in the Sahara? More proof that he had gone through "something", that and the vomiting.

About Jack, not wanting to spoil it for Emh (and I won't) but remember how he is addicted to pain killers when he gets off the island? Maybe this has something to do with it (a botched resolution to whatever is wrong with him now).

Smoke monster, awesome!!!!!

And the scene with Ben and Charles, Charles says something like "you can't kill me" An earlier poster said something about Charles and a connection to the BlackRock. I concur.:techman:

OH, btw: excellent.:techman::techman:

Ben is the new Journeyman

Ben knows all. He knows about that mole on the inside of your left butt cheek.

I think Ben and Desmond met each other when Ben was imprisoned in the hatch in season 2.

This was an extremely dramatic episode. And I don't even know what the bleep is going on anymore. I confess that I have not been following the 63 storylines very closely.

Ben took down those two gun-toting Arabs very easily. The scene was very Jason Bourne. Next time he checks into a Tunisian hotel, he can use that alias.

The smoke monster attack reminded me that there are real SF elements in the show. Nice of the writers to throw us a bone like that.

Excellent. Unbelievable. Yet another Best Episode of Lost of All Time. :D

Lost has now won the Best Drama Emmy and Michael Emerson has won the Best Supporting Actor Emmy. If anything else happens, there will be HELL to pay. :rommie:

At this point, I could just watch Lost forever. There's no reason this premise will ever "run out." Just thinking back to the premiere, the series has evolved to an incredible degree, yet has still maintained a consistent tone that keeps the evolution feeling natural and even imperceptable.

Best scenes, besides the "obvious" one: Ben waking up in the Sahara (got there the same way the polar bear did?); and the guys barracaded in the house, armed to the teeth and then - the doorbell rings!

The doctor is dead, yet he's still alive. Hmmm.

Nice job explaining why Sayid would be working for Ben. They practically handled that issue as a mere aside in the story.

Widmore is a Hanso and thus the Island is his by birthright.
Widmore is an alien and the Island is wacky because the alien mothership is buried underneath the volcano! (It's a sentient mothership like Moya.) :D Frakking humans are not allowed to just steal alien technology like that!

Anyone else notice that Sawyer is starting to develop a bit of a crush on Claire?
I was thinking it was more brotherly, but hey eventually Jack has got to find out Claire's his sister, and that will just give Jack and Sawyer something else to fight about.

Why can't Ben kill Widmore? Part of the rules?
I was hoping it was literal: he couldn't kill Widmore even if he tried.
Ahh.. don't call it a Stargate...
Stargate Done RIGHT!

I got the impression he didn't come from the island. I think he came from a colder climate. I thought he was shivering, and he did have a winter coat on....
He found his way to the surface (the Island is buried under the Antarctic) because that's where the teleportation station is.

Or maybe the teleportation points are all over the globe, just like those annoying Mystery Spots - one's near Santa Cruz, one in Oregon, one near Glacier Park in Montana...

Another great future story: Ben is going to kill Penny! Desmond will be mad!

Big showdown in S6, but my quatloos are on Des. Ben's a badass, but Love trumps Vengeance.
