This special is actually answering a few questions I've had.
Yeah, he was a great character and the character deserved better. But the actor didn't want to be there and that's a shame.
I like Frank but his death was fitting his status on the show. Expendable.
Like how Jacob knew who to touch as kids. He knew they'd be on the plane. Also, how they survived the crash. They couldn't die just yet. Looks like Jacob's faith in this fact also plays a role.
