Loss of one of our mods

It's with regret that I have to share the news of the passing of Mallory, known as John in real life, who we lost several days ago.

This thread is to share the good times and memories of someone who was a big part of why this forum was one of the best ones on the BBS.

Mal had a great sense of humor. He beat me in a contest once and instead of Mallory, I gave him a "mallard duck" av, called "Mal-turd," complete with graphics. He got a big laugh out of it.

I'd read a number of his postings over the past couple of years and always thought rather highly of him. I loved his "Saving Ensign Mallory avatar". I'm very sorry he couldn't be saved. You're welcome. Actually that one is my own version based on his (a number of modifications; I reused just Kirk, Spock, & McCoy). If you'd like his actual avatar, it's still on his member ID:
