Looks like DS9 will not get Blu Ray

It's a constant game of changing expectations designed to take our cash.

Well, yes. That's how technology progresses. Paramount isn't in it for the "art" of television.

We changed our own expectations in HD. We saw it. Old CRT sets weren't good enough anymore and we upgraded.

A few years ago they tried 3D. It didn't work out so well. So the industry stopped promoting it.

Now they're trying 4K. If it works then it will replace HD. If it doesn't then it'll be like 3D.

I'm waiting for 4D, time dilation and compression, so you can insta-view a whole boxset of episodes in the space of a few seconds (Inner Light style), or stretch out your favourite, favourite movie so it lasts for days!

Personally, I don't feel this topic is ongoing discussion, but a repetitive discussion, and that no new info or insight is being thrown on the table. So yeah, I guess it is kinda useless as far as discussions go. My two cents anyway.

A waste of time - implanted memories is the way forward.

You don't even have to watch something. You can just remember having seen it...

The memory of watching something never matches actually watching it. Otherwise we'd only watch everything once, and there never would have been a Betamax/VHS/Laser Disc/16mm/DVD/VCD/SVCD/HD-DVD/Blu-ray/4k/Online streaming/DTO industry.

I've only watched each Star Trek series once.

I don't tend to rewatch stuff much...

Actually, memory deletion technology would be more welcome. Imagine watching your favourite shows and movies each time like it's the first time.

What does it really matter? As long as everyone is civil and enjoying the discussion?

The Neutral Zone. I don't know if Ensigns can get into it, you might need to have been on the boards longer or had more posts.

When I first started posting here, I kept thinking people were referring TMZ. I couldn't work out why people cared about it so much!:)
