Hi. It's been a while since I posted here. Close to two years. Unless there's something I'm misremembering, not since Star Trek Into Darkness was released. I liked Star Trek (2009) but STID not so much, so I've stayed away. Going on and on about a movie I didn't like for two years isn't exactly my type of thing.
With "Star Trek 3", it's a different story. Literally. I can get behind Simon Pegg writing. If there were absolutely nothing else, it would at least be fun.
But there are other things. More roles and better roles for women, for one. And then there's the villain, which is the biggest draw.
An actor like Bryan Cranston, if not Cranston himself, and who might be like Heisenberg, a.k.a Walter White.
Breaking Bad is a show that I'm afraid to re-watch because the first time around last year, once I started I couldn't stop. I watched all 63 episodes in a single week. Whenever it was possible for me to be watching a TV, I was. I had to go from one episode to the next. I just had to keep going.
Walter White and his rise (or downfall, depending on how you look at it) was mesmerizing and you can see his motivations for doing what he did whether you agreed with him or not. Very tragic.
If this is what they want to have for a villain, I'm all for it.
