Looking for Vorlons

It's not clear whether the three Vorlons seen in "War Without End" (one at the start, two at the end) have any relation to Kosh and Ulkesh. To Dream in the City of Sorrows implied the one from the start was Ulkesh, but I didn't get that impression from the show. His manner was different.

I believe JMS said the two at the end were Kosh and Ulkesh. Though I cannot find a source for that at the moment.

Now, to be honest, there really weren't that many. I am looking for a picture of each Vorlon shown on Babylon 5 during the course of the series. Just one picture of each would be all I'm looking for. If I remember correctly, that would be something like only five or six for the whole show. So, if you have pictures or a list or something, that would be great. Thanks.

Veering wildly back to the original post, here are some cool avatars/pics of Kosh and Ulkesh: http://www.thescifiworld.net/avatars_babylon5_120_01.htm

I'm 99% positive the Vorlon at the beginning of "War Without End" is Ulkesh.
He does have the same style encounter suit. The two Vorlons from "In the Beginning" are definitely Kosh and Ulkesh, though,

I think the only vorlon we saw other than Kosh and Ulkesh was the one that appeared as an image in "into the fire" and that image was wearing Kosh's style of encounter suit with a slightly raspier pissed off voice.

I'm not sure if JMS ever said that the two that turned up beside Valen on B4 were Kosh and Ulkesh, or just some other Vorlons. The suits are no measure because those could quite easily change in 1000 years.

There were THREE kinds of Vorlon encounter suits seen on B5... the original Kosh Naranek, the latter Kosh Ulkesh, and the Kosh we saw on Minbar, in the beginning of "War Without End".

How do you know that was Kosh, though?

Yeah like Carol Burnett he might've saw it in the window and just HAD to have it. :techman:
 - good one.

Anyhow, I just played that scene and it can't be Kosh. The encounter suit is the one Ulkesh wears, yet the Kosh we know always wore the same suit. Moreover, the voice while given by Ardwight Chamberlain - who provided Kosh's voice - it's very different from the Kosh voice we've always heard.

I think there's often some confusion because the Vorlon costume in WWE is slightly different in colour and design to what they ended up using and of course the voice isn't like either Kosh's or Ulkesh's so it's understandable to assume it's a different Vorlon altogether. But then it wouldn't be the first time a look, make-up job or costume was retconned or and actress replaced by Bruce Boxleitner's wife. So file it under soviet revisionism, or just pretend that Ulkesh had been smoking some especially good gear and was totally mellow that day.

I mean the guy...squid...whatever was a million years old, so he couldn't be stressed out gobshite the whole time now, could he? Can you imagine the ulcers you'd get being that uptight for a thousand millennia?

I always hated the Naranek thing.

It seemed to come and go. In some books it was THERE and in most of the series it wasn't.

It's kinda like my grandmother. I only found out her was name was Alice a few years back. To me, she has always been "Nan". To think of her now as "Alice" is just plain weird.

Nevertheless, Kosh did work closely with Valen during The Great War as seen in the "In Valen's Name" comic and which was why Kosh was so eager to extend a "hand" to Sinclair in "The Gathering."

The only other Vorlon that was ever seem would be the conceptual drawing of Kosh's mate Velana. I don't think she or the mate concept ever became canon / listed on screen.

I guess Lyta was too jealous, and went to the Vorlon homeworld to fight for her first one. :)
