Looking for TOS era design 2008-2011

Grab a pen and a piece of paper and sketch something from memory; I'm honestly having a bit of trouble envisioning exactly what the real difference is between a Federation and a Constitution if not for the secondary hull and the nacelle on top of the saucer. We're a bit at a loss here I'm afraid...
Yeah, it's not very pleasant to look at. It's a quick and dirty cut and paste - approximately scaled by eyeball to what Kaiser described in his various posts.
I didn't design the $#@%, I just display them..
So... something like this?

I dunno, but seems appropriate. The other names that came to mind were the USS Kuato, USS Janus, or the USS Wasted Government Funding.

I checked my Cruiser and Dreadnought archive as well as my, Humor archive and can find no ship that matches Nathan's description.
My eyes! The goggles, they do nothing!So... something like this?
^ I think even a trusty pair of Joo Janta 200 Super Chromatic Peril Sensitives would have trouble with that image...

It's horrible and I love it. Does anyone else see what I see about the way two of those nacelles overlap other parts of the ship?
I'm actually kind of curious about what an asymmetrical nacelle layout like that would look like in 3D. Like that weird NASA test plane with the big angled wing.
