Looking for Simon & Schuster phone number

I'm looking for a phone number for Simon & Schuster that is not down due to technical issue. I found 1-800-223-2336 but the recording says it's down due to technical difficulties.

I bought an eBook from S&S and when I try to download it I get an error saying "Document is not licensed for this device type".

So how can I contact S&S by phone to get this problem sorted?

Given my luck contacting them about their converted ebooks that give errors when trying to download them, or just plain download the wrong book? You probably can't.

I did your their support form as well as trying to call. But I'm not giving up. It just means that I cannot finish the Terok Nor trilogy until this gets sorted.

Have you, I don't know, tried looking on there website? I just Googled Simon & Schuster and got this website and I'm guessing there is an American equivalent if you have a bit of a internet search.

^ The US version is just a form that one fills out and clicks "submit" ... There is no actual contact listed on the contact page.

According to the contact form, it's 1-2 days for a reply. So I am hoping for one by sometime Friday.

And what sort of technical difficulties would cause a problem with the customer service line?

Could be the phone server between the outside line & the inside lines - that handles processing the queue - went kaput.

There's a wince-inducing irony to the idea of the customer service line itself suffering a breakdown -- analogous to the warp core ejection failsafes failing.

Could it be that the blizzard felled the phone lines?

No idea what's wrong, but you would think that a company as big as S&S would have a way to get in touch with someone for support other than a support form on a website. The CS line is still down. And given that they are in Manhattan, you'd think they'd be able to get to the phone. And just to top it all off, I've not even gotten an automated message back to say that my issue was even accepted.

Now I know this is a stretch what I am about to ask, but can any of the authors who are in contact with any of the S&S staff please find out how I can contact someone to get the problem resolved?

Still having no technical difficulties with my books made out of paper.

Same here. Earlier I spilt a drink on my desk, got a few things wet, including a book, put it on the radiator and a bit later, it was fully functional again!

Good luck with that. i lost all my ebook content and no onecould ever help me. i'm out Hundreds of dollars!

I emailed them last week and asked why my content is only available back to 2006, even though their FAQs say they keep books available from March 2003 on. Still waiting on some sort of confirmation that they even received my email. Thankfully, I've got all my books backed up.

And just how does that help with the issue at hand?

This is the only eBook I've had such issues with. And on a good note, the CS line now says they are closed and not that they are having technical difficulties. So I am hopeful I can get through tomorrow.

That is one thing that's nice about purchasing through Barnes and Noble is that if my nook loses data or I lose data on my PC all my purchases are still available through the B&N website. All I would have to do is turn on my nook, check for B&N conent and it downloads immediately anything I don't have on the nook; unless I archived a title. But you don't have to have a nook to have al your titles available for redownload. All you need is a B&N account.
