Looking For Fun PS2 Games

Yeah, Destroy All Humans is on my order list. I had tried to trade for it before, but the transaction fell through, which happens sometimes. It's not like I can complain, I have so many games now it's ridiculous! :D

Yeah, I have SSX 3 and it's a lot of fun. I love snowboarding games.

Has anyone suggested GrimGrimoire yet? Odin Sphere by the same company is also quite fun, but there's nothing quite like building an army of winged fairies to crush your enemies.

Oh, Psychonauts! You'll have a blast with that one. Also any of the Sly Cooper games. If you don't mind long games, try Persona 4.

Thanks, Wyse. I saw Persona 4 on the site and was curious about it. I'm a big fan of visual novels, and this looks something similar.
The video makes me want to get the game, SPECTRE, so I will have to check it out. :D

If you want to watch some of the game before investing in it, I recommend the Endurance Run Giant Bomb did years ago. They played through the entire game, but I think you'll get a pretty good idea by just watching part 01 ;)

It looks like an immersive visual novel. I'm sold. Thanks for the recommendations on that one! :D

Also, I got MLB:2K12 today. I like baseball games anyway, and I wanted one of the last ones available for the PS2. Aside from the graphics looking really good, the color commentary and gameplay keep making me forget I'm actually playing it. At one point, I'm on the mound and pitching to the batter (It was Cincinnati vs. Chicago, and I was the Reds), and the batter just whales it. All I could think was "holy shit, that was a good hit!" and I started clapping, at which point I realized, "wait a minute, this is a video game." I am a clappy monkey.

It one part that, another part dungeon crawl-y Japanese RPG. It's a really special game.

4 is with the TVs and cards...
3 is the one where the characters have to shoot themselves to unleash their Personas...
Atlus makes some good RPGs...

Yeah, having reviewed them on Youtube, Persona 4 is the one I'll be getting. This happens to work because two people just cancelled my trade request, which frees up enough coins to grab it.

They are very different games (both great), but yeah, I definitely think you'll get more out of P4.

I can't say I'm really into JRPG's. The plots get too convoluted, the guys look (and sometimes act) like girls, and (most of) the girls sound like 10 year olds on a sugar buzz, even if their characters are aged 20.

This is not said to disrespect anyone here who does enjoy JRPG's. It is a personal opinion....and perhaps even a personal hang up. :)

I've always been curious about this series. Can you enjoy them independently? Should you play 3 before 4 or even the previous ones? It's kind of funny, I have one of the PS1 versions in a box somewhere that's been unplayed all this time.

Yeah, there's a lot of anime tropes in JRPGs, but that's to be expected given the "J". I understand how some people can find that annoying, but I love anime so it's a big plus to me.

Although I've never played a Persona game either. My first and only SMT game is Devil Survivor Overclocked for the 3DS. I'm stuck on Beldr. :(
