Looking for a pic....

Dayton Ward

Word Pusher
Rear Admiral
Hiya,

I'm hoping one of the regulars can help me with this. I'm looking for a pic which I believe was created by a board member a few years ago. It's a "top view" of the NX-01, but it's been given a "TOS-style" makeover, with the white-ish hull paint and markings in the TOS style.

Does this ring any bells?

I used the pic as inspiration for a make-over I gave a Polar Lights NX-01 model a couple of years back, but since then I've lost track of the pic itself. :)

Sounds like something Vektor did and, if memory serves, it may even have been before the premier of Enterprise. The version I'm thinking of was a sketch from the top and, at some point, he did a view from the bottom that showed that the top side was just a facade with an underside made of 2 x 4s (or similar.) ;)

I'll see if I can find a copy to post in my archived material, but perhaps Vek will see this and post the original.

Just a thought.

Good luck, Mr. W. :techman:

I think I got 'em... :D

OOOOO, good possibilities all.

And thank you, Klaus, that's exactly the one I was thinking of at least. Hope one of these is what Dayton Ward had in mind.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. That was right around the time I first joined TBBS. In fact, I think it was a Google search for what the new Enterprise might look like that first led me to some speculative drawings/models in the TBBS Art forum. What a long strange trip it's been. ;)

You may be thinking of the "How would you re-imagine the NX-01 Enterprise?" thread I started in this Art forum back in April of 2007; there was a drawing posted there that fits your description.

Yes! That's the one, as submitted by Flux Capacitor. Thanks!

(Taking nothing away from Vektor, of course. I've been a fan of his work for years, and I remember seeing that NX-01 sketch when he first posted it. Laughed then, laughed again this morning. :))

Thanks again to everyone for the help!
