Look at me Sandra Dee

It doesn't happen a lot, but sometimes a TREK character will convey SO much just with the look on their face...here are a few examples...

When Khan takes off that head dress and and lowers his head and glares at the screen, man...that scene still conveys a controlled anger that I have never seen equaled!

Another one I like is when Kirk backs into the Turbo lift in Generations..he has just told scotty to keep her together while he goes down the deflector room do what ever he had to do, and as he backs in scotty replies "I always do"..kirk/shatner flashes that wry grin and it seems, to me, he is laughing along with us in the crowd because it is such a routine between Scotty and Kirk...

Also, from TREK 3, when Savik announces that David believes the Genesis effect has brought Spock back to life. The look on the woman who comprehends what she has just heard speaks volumes..like "huh? What the fuck?"

Are there any simple looks, or use of facial expressions, that have really made a scene for you?? Movie or episode, it doesn't matter.

I always pay close attention to Data's facial expression at the end of "The Most Toys" where he denies the intentional weapons discharge.

You know..that is a very good pick. I hadn't thought about that one for sometime, but yes, very good pick. Makes you re-think Data much more, and I think it was intended to make you do just that. Maybe there was a little more of "lore" behavior in him than he wanted to let on

From ENT "Home":

Tableau of T'Les and Trip's expressions as the marriage ceremony begins...

"Observer Effect"

Archer tearing up as Trip walks slowly away from the decon window after he learns there's no hope...

"Terra Prime"

T'Pol alone in her quarters, clutching the IDIC. No outward expression of grief, but you just know she's heartbroken.

If you're talking to me... (boy, I sure missing being able to identify the person posters are responding to when they don't quote 'em!)... thanks.

 Yes, of course I'm talking to you. (Hence the "^".)

My favorite of all time is in ST IV. When Kirk realizes that Spock is not with him in the Cetacean Institute. He looks around, and then spots him swimming in the whale tank. The "OMG", disbelief, "Holy Sh*t" that slowly spreads across his face is priceless.

Thank you!
The look on Picards face at the end of The Inner Light when he clutches the flute to his chest.

Both excellent choices!

I love the look on Worf's face (before he speaks) in First Contact when Picard calls him a coward. If looks could kill Picard would have vaporized where he stood.

I always loved the look of pain on Spock's face in Journey to Bable when Amanda is begging him to save Sarek and she says something like, "If you don't I'll hate you for it!"

OUCH!

You can tell that hits Spock hard.

The look on Kirk's face in TWOK when he gets the message that he better get down to engineering quick, and glances over at Spock's empty chair. A poignant moment that still gets me every time.

Regards

The look on Worf's face at the end of Sins of the Fathers when he accepts dishonor to save the Klingon Empire. Or his snarl when he's upset that Q has turned him and his compatriots into one of Robin Hood's Merry Men! Those are the two I think of right away. -- RR

Yes! Also, earlier on the Defiant bridge when the helmsman informs him that the Enterprise has just entered the battle, the look on Worf's face in response to "It's the Enterprise!" is classic.

Yes...this would be the all time best I agree. Totally skipped my mind, and that scene is so hip/funny...great pick there!

Another Shatner expression is when, in Trek two, McCoy calls from engineering and tells Kirk he better get down here..then kirk looks at, and here is the best part, Spock's empty chair..we all knew what that meant to kirk, and was kirk's first clue something was wrong...

At the beginning of The Wounded, in the first part when the Cardassians have beamed aboard, as she's leaving, Troi turns and stares at O'Brien, then rushes out because she's needed.

I love the moment, because
- it tells the story without dialogue
-it points out that O'Brien (and all the little people) aren't furniture but people, and this story is going to turn on him
- it drives home that the world looks different to an empath (she should have had more subtle moments like this)

Many good examples mentioned already, so I'll try not to be redundant. In the Inner Light, when Picard/Kamin realizes that the whole thing was "artificially" put into his mind, as his dear departed are suddenly there. Tear-jerker gallore.
Also, in TSFS, at the end when McCoy gives Spock that little tap to the forehead. Words can't sum it up. Further proof that there will never be another DeForest Kelley. While we're on that scene, I really liked Saavik's embarrassed look as Spock faced her. Nice touch. Too bad it was never followed up on.

Insurrection had a nice bit when Geordi looks at that sunset with real eyes for the first time. LeVar Burton has an expression which is priceless and sells the whole scene.

And now, to be controversial. As much as I know what the common consensus is on the flick, (it's not one of my favorite's either) in Nemesis, just as Data beams Picard back to the Enterprise, and he's about to blow up the Scimitar. Say what you will, to me, it resonates.
