London advices

^ I'll reserve judgment till I've been there. :p It's in the top five places I definitely want to visit.

The first night I was in Rome, I turned around the corner and saw the Colosseum. At that second, I thought Rome was the coolest city in the world by far. Thinking back on it, there are so many things I love about London, that it's hard to say. In many ways, I view Rome as a city I'd love to visit and London as a city I'd love to live in.

Of course, I'm a broke American, so I can't really do either.

You know, I can agree with that. Rome is beautiful, but sometimes it's too loud and confusing even for my tastes. London can be busy, but it looked like there is always a quiet spot 'round the corner if you want to take a break from the mess. Obviously, for me London raises the problem of language, something that I would not have in Rome.

And since my girlfriend is not around here, I would like to ask a question about London girls (nothing too saucy, don't get your hopes up). Most of the times when I was speaking to some girl there, be a waitress, a shopkeeper, or just a local girl to which I'm asking some informations, I noted that they were quite flirty with me.

Nothing too obvious, but something in their smile and eyes that was saying "why aren't you asking my number already". Since I'm not really a looker (well, not in that proportion, at least), I was wondering if it's something cultural about it (i.e. they were not flirty at all, just nice). Or maybe I was just imagining things. But I really got that impression.

And no, nothing came from that. I'm happily quasi-engaged. :p

^ Honey, you're Italian, Data would flirt with you :adore:

And anyway, if I recall you told me you had a Damn Nice Ass ;)

Yeah, I've gotta' agree, it's all the "Latin lover" and "Italian stallion" stereotypes...

If you were single, you probably could have been busy with decent talent every night of the week and twice on Sundays... your girlfriend didn't know what she risked. :p

I would love to visit London. I have relatives who live there (Clapham Common) so they could probably help me decide what attractions to see, what zones to get on my travelcard, etc. Unfortunately I only have so much vacation time...

And dammit, Emma Clarke doesn't do the Tube voiceovers anymore, does she? :(

I'm heading off to London next week, for approximately a month. I've been before, but not for any length of time. So looking forward to it!
