Lol, Pop Song

^^This one works as well.

On a serious note, I don't like the pop song, but I love the opening credits. By far the best opening animation of any Trek show, and I really like the decision to eschew the stale orchestral style of the previous shows' themes.

I just wish they had chosen something different from "Faith of the Heart." It's obvious from the electric guitar on "Archer's Theme" that they wanted to break away from the Spielburg/maudlin stylings of previous themes.

Might have been great if they did away with opening credits entirely, or at least minimized them.

I just started watching Enterprise beginning with season 2 and I plan on watching the whole thing. It's pretty good.

You're not far into S2, are you? ;)

Seen all but the first two episodes. And I fell asleep in the Mayweather episode so I never bothered to finish it.

^Welcome to the Ent forum moocey it's always nice to have new fans of the show - what's been your fave ep so far?

Back on topic, I kinda liked the song for the intro (though not so much the speeded up version of S3 & 4). The opening credits themselves were really well done, just lovely visuals and the words to the song fit pretty well with them.

Either Dead Stop or Regeneration. I haven't seen many episodes that stick out as being particularly great, but I think the average episodes of ENT are much better than average episodes of Voyager (or maybe even TNG )

I don't think the story or plot of most of the episodes are usually anything beyond standard trek cliche, but that's not what I like about ENT. I think ENT has good acting and likable characters. When cliches are used, they're usually handled well.

Also, ENT lacks any character that I find highly irritating e.g. Neelix. Phlox is Neelix done right. He's a cheerful alien that helps out by giving the crew new info about new races/territories. And he does it without making me want to rip out his vocal cords.

Bottom line so far, imo, is that ENT isn't anything special. But it is more Trek to watch and it's definitely a step above Voyager.

Really? Archer's hatred of the Vulcan's, and Trip's hatred of anything not human, plus his generally unlikeable, arrogant, jerk-like, know-it-all, "I'm right and everybody else is wrong" manner doesn't put you off?

When I first heard that intro song, for about 10 seconds I thought the t.v. station had messed up, and accidently placed some other show's theme music over Enterprise's. Which makes no sense, but at the time that's the best explanation my brain could give me. Once I realised they'd used it on purpose, It made trying to enjoy Enterprise an uphill struggle. It's like Oprah opening with a piece of death metal.

Maybe I haven't watched enough, but so far I don't get that impression about either of them.

Absolutely.

On the other hand; ENT lacked any characters that really compelled me the way, say, VOY's Doctor did. That's probably why I consider VOY the better show, though they both had the same failings and ENT made a serious effort to repair them in its third and fourth seasons.

How far along are you? It's there from the beginning. They whine like little kids about how the Vulcan's held them back.

Pathetic.

I started with the 3rd episode of season 2 and I'm about 8 episodes into season three now. I might have heard some complaining, but it never struck me as whining like little kids.
