Spoilers Loki season one discussion thread

Pretty conspicuous diss to Agents Of SHIELD there mentioning the death of Coulson and not teasing him that he didn't even successfully kill him.

This is sounding like the AOS-verse got pruned.

And even excluding that, if they wipe out any alternate timelines that are created that discounts at least the last two seasons of AOS which took place in a snap-free universe where (presumably) Thor went for the head.

Coulson's dead in the movies, dead in the AoS show.

The Coulson advanced LMD could be easily featured in the MCU with "We had a full brain scan and we've implanted it into this LMD !".

The MCU can acknowledge the AoS show if it wants. It can also introduce the Coulson LMD without acknowledging AoS.

It has options.

I liked the oblique Dr Who reference "You're that criminal with the blue box". I know Casey was talking about Tesseract, but the Doctor has been called the same thing many times also.

The TVA technology reminds me of the film "Brazil" and the old "Max Headroom" series- futuristic stuff mixed in with antiquated equipment. The end credits really drive that home with the montage featuring rotary dial phones...

Really impressed with the level of acting, even the secondary characters are well done.
OMG yes, Max Headroom! I loved it in the day, have the DVD's but haven't gotten anyone in this miserable era to get into it.

I've only had time to watch the first few minutes of episode 1. It looks interesting so far. I'll be back later for more discussion.

The ancient one wanted her stone returned.

The TVA destroyed her timeline.

Unless the Ancient One and the infinity stones is what was protecting the timeline against the TVA.

What the Avengers did was "meant to be" so the TVA would not have destroyed the Timelines they made until after Steve Rogers had taken the stones back.

Maybe Immortus or Kang can "hide" variant timelines from the TVA?

Yeah but he survives several years longer in the show. He survives Loki.

Nah: I saw Mobius' knowing smirk.

The show's writers are Time Bureaucrats and are correcting a few things.

Any bone headed attempt to undo AoS would be the opposite of a correction.

Regarding the Coulson/AoS thing; remember that THIS Loki is from mere minutes after his capture in 'Avengers'. IIRC Coulson was said to have been dead for DAYS before they managed to bring him back, so whether or not AoS is factored into canon, as of this point in the timeline he is indeed dead either way.

But are these guys not outside of linear time? I mean, shortly after this, Loki was able to see events from The Dark World, Ragnarok and Infinity War?

Now I want that blue gum. Hopefully there will be a tie-in product with that packaging.

Sure, but what does that matter? Loki still killed him, and if they're truly outside the flow of the timeline then from their perspective everyone everywhere is both alive and dead at the same time.

Clearly there is linear time within the TVA itself, otherwise it couldn't function with all these created human analogue operatives, nor would there be any need to "solve" the case of the Other Loki Variant (which I'm guessing is Lady Loki?) and their ambushes because being outside of ANY linearity means they'd already know the solution before the problem occurs. Also: numbers, tickets, queues; all very much hallmarks of linear organisation. Clearly while they can manipulate and move through the 4th dimension more or less at will, they're not divorced from it.

We don't know 'When' the TVL is yet. Whether it's some time in the distant future or in some weird timeless nexus.

We don't have any proof the other variant really is Loki. I suspect somebody somebody in TVL may have hidden involvement.
