Logie Awards - Gretel Exploding WTF?!?

Just caught a bit of this footage on Ch9 news and it appears there was an explosion on the stage and Gretel falls.

They mentioned some jokes "in bad taste", of which I am guessing this was one. Does anybody know what this was about?

I haven't looked at the Logies for years. I think the last time I watch Mike Willesee was the host.

I am not all that interested in Australian TV.

I know what you mean. Aussie tv pretty much sucks. I happened to catch that stupid new Generation show the other night with Shaun McCalliff and it was an hour of my life I REALLY want back.

I laughed when, at one point one of the "comedians" was being heavy handed with a prop and Shaun said, "Careful with that, we've got twelve more episodes to go."

I responded with, "Oh no you DON'T Shaun!"
