So where do we think The Federation decide it move it HQ to? Do you think one of the other founding species (Vulcan, Tellar Prime or Andoria) is hosting it or do you think it's somewhere else?

My wishful thinking says it should be Bajor, just because I'd like to revisit the place. But a planet belonging to one of the major races that hadn't been a Federation member before would be also nice. It would be a great way to show how much the galaxy could change over the centures, if the capital was, let's say, Cardassia Prime.

As somebody who doesn’t like the Bajorans very much, I’d sooner avoid Bajor. Andoria would be my choice.

They could've also switched to a rotating capital system like the Council of the European Union or the New Republic in the Star Wars sequels. Or maybe even a decentralized system like the Netherlands with separate legislative, executive and judiciary capitals. Who knows? As long as it's not Vulcan... that would be just too convenient for me.

V'Draysh.

A twist would be that it's on Vulcan. One of the episodes this season is called "Unification III". Earth united with Vulcan and other worlds to form the United Federation of Planets. Earth seceded. Vulcan is the next logical choice.

Vulcan essentially occupied Earth to make it "ready" to join the Interstellar Community. Earth was part of it for 1,000 years. Then it wanted out.

Now Vulcan is in a position where it has sway over countless worlds that it never would've had sway over before the Federation. So that means the Vulcans have returned to Imperialism. That makes them closer to the Romulans. Making re-unification more possible.

Like I've said before, unification between the Vulcans and the Romulans probably did happen... just not the way Spock would've wanted.

I feel like vulcan being the new capital is too predictable and expected.

I'm starting to think that not only did starfleet leave earth, but it left all of the key federation planets. We've seen some hints of this i think with the andorians allying with the orions.

It could be that starfleet consolidated somewhere outside of its old borders, perhaps a planet designated as a fallback position in the event the core worlds fell. The Federation/V'draysh might not consist of anything more than a smattering of planets colonised post-burn

I don't think it's Bajor, but the one uptime Federation officer we have seen has black irises.

Now, lots of people from the Near East have irises close to black naturally (like the actress who played vajazzle in Picard) but it could also be a tell.

I am pretty sure from the promo videos it will be some random space station
