KIRK [OC]: Captain to transporter room. Are you reading me or not, Mister Scott? Bridge to transporter room. How many did we get off? —"Mudd's Women" I'd say all of them, except maybe Mr. Spock.
It was a different time. I'm not sure that particular slang existed yet, at least not to be widely known in mixed company. Okay, it probably existed. On Collector's Call (a MeTV reality show) two weeks ago, some comic book nerds were talking about the debut of Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy #15. And they were casually referring to it as "A F 15." Host Lisa Welchel joked, "Everybody knows what A F 15 is. It's famous A F!" Given the age of the audience, I'm sure that went over a lot of heads. Back to "Mudd's Women," it always annoyed me that Spock was in his right mind, but he chose not to answer Kirk on the intercom.
Another loaded line, this time Scotty in "Elaan of Troyius" That was no accident. We know "equipment" was slang for anatomy at the time, because there's a reference to Yeoman Rand in The Making of Star Trek.
McCoy: "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?" That one was deliberate, too. I think Kelley must have loved that line. He might even have come up with it.
