Nice to hear so many British accents among the writers. Gives me hope.

Although James' accent foxed me slightly... mostly English, but there seemed to be a few Australian twangs coming in as well from time to time. And I say that as an English eprson who used to live in the US and got fed up of Americans not being able to tell the difference between English and Australian accents. Not that it matters.

Anyway - great interview. I didn't realise James had written The Slow Knife as well, but I loved that, and I loved Vipers, and I loved Synthesis. Haven't read Shadow yet, but the news that Vaughn is in it intrigues me...

.

He was wonderful to talk too and know so much! I cannot wait to have him back on the show and read his newest books.

Cast No Shadow is by far his best book(IMHO). I highly recommend it:bolian:

Ha! Yeah, I get that a lot. I've also been asked if I'm Canadian or a New Zealander; but I'm 100% British, a London lad born and raised...

Did you spend most of your days on the playground?

Chillin' out max and relaxin' all cool and all kickin' some f-ball outside of the school?

I listened the first poscast with Dayton Ward and I really enjoyed it. English is not my mother language so I was afraid to not understand but actually it was quite clear and I understood most of it, except maybe sometimes Dayton Ward, who was probably on the phone, wasn't he? It was very interesting and it made me want to read Vanguard :)
So thank you for this podcast and I'll soon listen the other episodes.

So glad to have you listening. You are right, most of the time an author is calling in, so the audio is completely dependent on the connection.

The David Mack interview was awesome! I have listened to many different podcast interviews he has done and he does not disappoint.

Great anecdote about trying to write for the show "You Can't Do that on Television" It was very interesting. Also of note was how thankful we should all be to Dave's mother for taking him to the screenwriting class as a kid and encouraging his writing. Her investment in his talent has benefited us all.

Though he may have been given "The Starfleet Survival Guide", on a silver platter to write. The amount of work he put into the "Destiny Series", balanced it all out:) Sounds like it was a major undertaking.

Mr. Mack's got a great feel for the development of characters. I especially like were he has taken the TNG crew in the latest books. Worf and Picard are written very well.

Thanks for asking my question about the Vanguard team working together again. I am sure they will find the right project. Here's hoping Dave does a Data proposal as he said he might (would love to read that).

Overall you guys have done another top notch interview. Keep up the great work:bolian:

Thank you for providing the question! We are going to have David Goodman coming up as well as DRGIII next month, so lots in the works! Plus a comics extravaganza
