List Of Rare And Unusual Episodes?

In_Correct

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
What episodes are so rare and what makes them rare?

I am going to begin with

Encounter At Farpoint
The only episode(s) with Deanna wearing a shirt with no pants. The only episode(s) for that season where her hair is down. The only time Deanna wears her Blue uniform until a full uniform (complete with pants) in season 6.

The Naked Now
Chief Engineer MacDougal with intoxicated assistant chief engineer.

Code Of Honor
The only music from Fred Steiner, who also composed music for TOS.

Haven

Pre-Ten Forward episode, possibly The "Captain's Mess" seen in the episode "Sins Of The Fat Her"

Where No One Has Gone Before
Datalore

with
Lonely Among Us
Hide and Q
Encounter At Farpoint (novelization)
Chief Engineer Argyle appearance, or a subtle reference.

Too Short A Season
The only episode scored by George Romanis. Very unusual plot that involves matters outside of The Enterprise. The only thing really Science Fiction about it is the Miracle Drug.

Symbiosis

"I don't belong here, sir. I'm supposed to be dead!"

We'll Always Have Paris
Conspiracy
The Neutral Zone

Be cause it was still in the first season but there was no Yar yet Beverly was still on the ship. It doesn't feel like the first season, or the second, or the third. They MIGHT feel like the third season if they had changed the lighting, uniforms, Cherry Wood access panels, and Worf's forehead.

The Outrageous Okona
Q Who

No Pulaski. But also Guinan was in both of these episodes.

The Ensigns Of Command
Cinematography not necessarily 1st or 2nd season, but also not the same with the rest of the 3rd season either.

The Enemy

The only episode of the third season that Beverly has long hair.

Tin Man
The first episode, and only episode of that season with Jay Chattaway composing music.

First Contact
First episode that almost has a point of view from the alien world instead of The Federation.

Face Of The Enemy
Don Davis music, and this episode felt more like a first season episode.

The Pegasus
Rare Jon Debney music.

I hope this list isn't overdone.

Conspiracy
It almost bucks the entire feel of all other Star Trek up to that date

Shades of Gray
It's rare, & that's a good thing. If they'd ever done more crappy clip shows like this, I'd have abandoned the show

Cause & Effect
No other episodic serial tv show up to that point would've had the sack to even attempt this

Chain of Command
This took pretty big balls to do also

Lower Decks
It opened a whole new way of looking at Star Trek, imho

Birthright 1 as it kind of crossed over with DS9. You could say that Journeys End and Preemptive Strike crossed over with ds9 more.

Q Who - pure Borg, no further dramatizations necessary. Pure ice water in the face of contemporary society.

Picard runnin' around the ship looking for his saddle. Oh, yeah, and knockin' a few baddies out along the way.

The Data's head Clemens episode.

That lacklustre psycho-Data two parter with Bev as Captain and everyone else on the planet - which is pure nuts.

Riker has to bear Data's bizarre poetry and then has his arm sliced off by a gigantic grasshopper. Bad day for Will.

Deanna loses her powers, gets verrrry cranky, has to be cajoled back to work by JLP and then has Riker call her "aristocratic". Tough day for her, fun for us!

Conundrum with Data as bar tender and Riker doing' a bit of two timin'. The sleazy and fictional Cmdr Duff causes ALOT of mischief in that episode.

The Nth Degree
With the fairly large amount of lines that April Anaya has, you would think that she would be in many more episodes. But it is The only episode that has her in it.

The ending of "The Nth Degree" was unusually goofy and the threat in "Schisms" and "Phantasms" unusually creepy and dark, no way to communicate with or maybe coexist with them.

The Hunted
The only episode we see the full sized "Jeffries Tubes" which are really just corridors near the engine catwalk.
