Spoilers Limitless - TV Series

Just a heads up, looks like Limitless (1x20) is airing early again in my parts of Canada. Instead of on Tuesday night, it is airing tonight(Monday).

1x20...

I loved this episode. It might be my favorite one to date. Rebecca takes NZT and so we're back to seeing someone acquiring heightened mental faculties for the first time and playing around with it. The show veered away from that.

I also liked Rebecca's description of what being on NZT is like. The whole thing sounded almost like enlightenment in a pill. And you know, I've always wondered why the effects weren't permanent. The real reason is that you wouldn't have a dramatic show. But honestly, why couldn't someone use their new brain power to resolve the personal issues that prevent them from being their best? Or at least why not develop a more permanent solution by designing another "fix".

Anyway, back to the show. Once again Brian was in a dark place but managed to rebound fairly quickly. It's a hallmark of both the character and the way the show is written. The lighter side always comes out and tings don't stay bad for long. Fortunately Rebecca being on NZT allowed her to uncover, forgive and understand Brian's predicament quickly and easily.

Two more episodes left and it's a two-parter called "Finale: Part One!" and "Finale: Part Two!!". Note the two exclamation marks at the end of the second episode's title. Oh, that Brian...

In the pilot, wasn't death a result of taking too much NTZ? That seems to have disappeared.

You still die after taking NZT for a period of time. However, the booster shot Brian has been given eliminate NZT's negative effects for a couple of weeks. And this entire season has been building up to the fight over control of the booster shot.

I loved the ending to this episode, it was actually thrilling and exciting, which is highly unusual for this show. (Usually it's just "I did something smart to get out of the mess I was in, magic handwave, ta-daaaa.")

Brian was fired off-screen so it felt like I missed an episode after Rebecca being on NZT. And it looks like he can stop taking both NZT and the injection without any ill effects.

I think the idea is that the old injections covered any side effects from any previous pill use. But he can't take any more pills without risk.

He got away with one this week, but there might be consequences after taking the second. (Or if he has to take a 3rd during the season finale.)

Also, obvious bad guy was really obvious. REALLY obvious. He was just about the most obvious bad guy ever. Was there anyone who did not suspect him the millesecond he walked into the FBI office?

Had to re-watch the ending when Brian drove into the hanger. Talking so fast, didn't get who was setting up who. I wonder if they are trying to write Eddie's storyline out of the series slowly or just a really good way to add more drama to the show. If Eddie becomes President, will he be unreachable?

I think it's the opposite. So far it's constantly been Brian vs Sands with zero focus on Eddie, but don't forget Eddit is an NZT-grade player too. He was smart enough to see Sand's trap via the CDC and easily evaded Rebecca's team just by switching planes. I think Finale: Part Two is where Edward Morra will finally show his hand.

Watched the most recent episode. Good episode and look forward to where the finale goes in order to get us back to "the status quo" with Brian on NTZ and avoiding the side-effects; whether he gets them from what's-her-name or reconnects with Morah who never had any of these sinister motives and likes/wants Brian to succeed. Everything centered around Morah's actions being either misinterpreted by the characters (and misrepresented to us) or something of an elaborate series of games set-up by Morah to sniff out the The League of Whom and eliminate them.

So, what did everyone think of that finale?

Piper showing up at Brian's home with a permanent immunity to NZT seemed too good to be true and I was open to the possibility that it was another hallucination.

Morra's gonna want some of that.

It's possible Morra already has a permanent version. He could just be using the booster shot for his minions.

I suspected from the first time they introduced Piper that it would end with her developing a permanent shot for Brian. It was the obvious way for the writers to get him out from under Morra's heel.

The video interviews were fun. Who was the scruffy guy that talked about wetwork? One of the show's producers?

The ending felt like a clean sweep of all complications to get back to the status quo.

Wouldn't someone want to use Brian as a lab rat to figure out the side effect cure?
