Life Imitating Art...

Squiggy

FrozenToad

I originally posted this in Ent, but figured it might get some more play in here...

As some of you may be aware, NASA Astronaut Mike Finke appeared in Enterprise's finale, These Are the Voyages.

What you may not be aware of is that Finke will be the commander of Expedition 18 on board the International Space Station. In the pre-launch news conference yesterday, Finke appeared in a NASA blue jumpsuit with a gold stripe along his shoulders like a certain commanding officer.

He's a HUGE Trekkie and now Command Gold is canon!

Hopefully he has an actual backbone... unlike a certain other captain in a blue jumpsuit. :rommie:

Heh, another example would be the similarities of the blood pressure, heart beat, etc. computers (just a touch screen) I saw at the CVICU with the ones from ENT.

In fact, in some way, we're catching up very quickly to Star Trek in regards to PADDs, tricorders, and maybe even hyposprays in this umm timeline/reality/world.

Very nice photo and tie-in; thanks for the heads up! :) (So, just to ask the obvious: does it mean he had the gold stripes sewn onto the NASA jumpsuit and wore the gold undershirt for Trek reasons? Those blue jumpsuits are coincidentally accommodating.)

On the left, Richard Garriott known as "Lord British" in gaming circles is a space-flight participant (really really REALLY rich guy who has a bunch of money he can blow on spending a week on the ISS.

On the right, Yuri Lonchakov...a Russian.
