According to the DoD, the plane suffered a malfunction. And i am rooting for the rebels too, because they're fighting for democracy, and i like that.

excellent . a war we can support . this makes three at a time . I thinik that's a record for any country .

go democracy

The US is not at war with Libya. We're merely enforcing a Security Council resolution, and it's not like US ground troops are gonna go in.

I know were not at war with libiya a news anchor on cnn commented that we are in three military conflicts at the same time and but he used the term war.

The Taliban were once considered good guys too... Look at how they helped out Rambo in Rambo umm 3?

I get worried about Libya because of how it's a series of tribes (like Afghanistan) so who's to say what type of 'democracy' will actually be implemented by various tribes within the country should Gadahfi be overthrown.

I think he holds(held) the country together through his power and fear, I'm not sure how the different factions will come together under a new leader.

so long as it is not a dictatorship or military reigem them can have any goverment they want.

george w bush

one the best president we have ever had since JFK .

Yeah, Libya is a classic case of Europeans drawing lines on a map and making a country. I mean, you can tell me those perfectly straight lines correspond to any ancient tribal boundaries.

Seriously, I hope for the best, I think the UN has made the right call here, and I support Canada's involvement there, but there's certainly no guarantee that everything will work out for the best.

Supposedly one out of five foreign fighters in Iraq were from Libya, a very disproportionate amount considering the population of Libya compared to the rest of the Middle East.

Some of those fighters went home to Libya, which side are they on now? Gaddafi or the rebels? Who knows.

Also, many of the rebel leaders up until a few weeks ago were part of Gaddafi's government. One of them was the head of his secret police and chief enforcer. Not a nice man.

I hope the rebels win. I hope they're nice people who love democracy and set up a great new government.

But right now I'm not sure of either thing happening or being true.

well today I was watching cnn and a report came on where a woman tried to give american and european reporters her story saying several goverment troopers beater and rapped her and she wanted justice . there were goverment types at the hotel and they grabed her and several employees at this hotel threatened her and one had a kitchen knife and they took her away either to a hospital or prison . No one know's .

Hey, I hope the rebels win to. Man where is an Ironman when you need one.
Man when the Egypt conflict was in its climax, Cnn stated that since this is happening and succeding, this will be an example for all middle eastern countries. They were right, and on an amazing scale, Liyba, Jordan, Symria. This is going to be a crazy year.

I can really get behind these people and support the U.S. aiding them. They rose up against a tyrant and demanded their freedom. To be ready to stand up, and give your life for what you believe is admirable.

Freedom is more valuable if you earn it, instead of having it handed to you.

We shouldn't be involved in this at all. But we've been sending weapons to both sides, we decided for them what their borders have to be like, so we must involve, and continue to decide what's good for them. For years we let the dictator reign, and now we're supporting his critics. That's the vicious cycle that must stop.

well we did'nt go into this head first this time we actually followed in behind europe and the united nations .

There were likely US ground troops in the form of US Army special forces, also forward air controllers inside of Libya prior to the first cruise missile and fighter/bomber attacks.

The Korean War was a case of the US merely enforcing a Security Council resolution too. Resolution 84.

:)

Who cares who went in first?

Wait, you're only at war with someone when you send ground troops? And it's no war when you enforce a UN resolution? This is splitting hairs silliness. It's war, plain and simple.

ALL dictatorships and military regime's are wrong in every since of the word .
If people cry out for freedom and need help we should help no matter what.
after were done in lyibia I think we go after cuba and N. korera. the world does'nt
need any more hitler's out there it time for peace even if we have to carry a big stick
to do it with .
