Lexus will be introducing a new line of hybrids called the HS 250.
I suspect it will use a 2.4 liter I4 engine suplemented by an electric motor, somewhere in the vicinity of 190-200 total horsepower (gas and electric combined), while able to maintain 33-37 overall MPG.
It will likely be based on the Prius, but using the bigger Camry Hybrid engine (tuned for a few more HP than the 2.4 liter Camry gets).
While I'm NOT a fan of smaller cars, I think this has potential to be a hit if they make it feel like a Lexus (quality interior and soft freeway cruiser ride). I think people would like to have a quality near-luxury car that can get 35 MPH and still have relatively capable power.

Would anyone buy a small, 4 cylinder Lexus?
