Yea. I like him and John Michael Higgins from America Says. He seems to have a good personality and does a good job hosting.
They've said he's on as producer at the very least, so even if he isn't the face of it, he'll be behind the scenes in some capacity.
I myself nominate TCM and The Young Turks host Ben Mankiewicz: He's got just the right mix of dignity, authority, and sly humor. Enough charisma to keep the show interesting, but not so much as to upstage or draw focus from the contestants. And I've become quite fond of his voice over the years...
That was his dad who was the real talent behind Citizen Kane, was it not? Higgins would be better suited to wheel of fortune to me
Granddad. Ben's also the cousin to the late Tom Mankiewicz, and his brother Josh is a journalist for NBC.
Already? I had no idea it would be the very next week. I thought there'd be a hiatus or whatever I'll have to give it a look-see, just to know. Plus, it's... Jeopardy. I really enjoy the game. I'll probably hang in there a good while no matter what's going on, unless it gets terribly unpalatable or something
The LA Times is reporting that Katie Couric will be the next guest host after Ken's stint, though the Jeopardy! producers have yet to confirm. https://www.latimes.com/entertainme...ardy-after-the-final-alex-trebek-episodes-air Couric could be a good choice — she would bring a good mix of gravitas and fun.
Technically, they'd already started their new season, and Trebek had been shooting up to 10 days before his death, and they likely had plans in place for the eventuality by having Ken Jennings be a producer to ease the transition and to keep the season moving. But yeah, I plan on watching.
Ken was alright tonight. He wasn't as cocky as I thought he might be and showed the proper respect for the institution of Jeopardy. I'll be interested to see how he does once he gets past the jitters.
He sounded close to tears in that clip. It'll be on in 20 minutes here, so it's a good thing I spotted your post.
I'd agree with all that. The sad truth though, is that he'll always sound like a pimple faced teenage. It made the interviews awkward. He struggles with a speech impediment. Just makes it a tough fit for a host
Multiple websites are reporting that Aaron Rodgers will be the next guest host after Katie Couric. Are they even still filming at this point? I thought filming was shut down in and around L.A. County due to the Covid spike.
I'm guessing these were filmed back in November or December? So it may be we see another stoppage soon over that
I think so, yeah. If it's anything like what Trebek described, multiple episodes a day would be filmed, allowing them to bank episodes before they air. It's possible they filmed most of these guest-hosts in one week and are only just now announcing them.
I'm sitting here watching the news and I'm kinda surprised that Anderson Cooper's name hasn't come up yet as a guest host. I was also thinking Jeff Probst, who hosted a version of 'Jeopardy' called 'Rock & Roll Jeopardy' back in the late 90s, should get a shot.
^I could have sworn that I saw Anderson Cooper's name kicked around, but I think it was just people speculating out their asses in the immediate wake of Alex's death.
