Levar Burton to be the next host of Jeopardy?

And just like that, Aaron Rodgers will never be hosting Jeopardy again.
He just wanted everyone to be in Jeopardy.
Ken Jennings says in today's episode, "We're having fun," while his face looks like he wants to kill someone.
Better to look like one wants to kill someone (which wasn't the impression I got, watching the episode) than to be spreading a virus that actually could kill a lot of someones.

(Given that I don't pay much attention to football [it seems like such a fuss over a lousy 25 cents], I wasn't even aware of the Rodgers COVID issues until just now.)

LeVar Burton to host "Trivial Pursuit" game show for eOne.

“’Trivial Pursuit’ is one of the best-known brands in the gaming universe,” Burton said. “I am thrilled to have partnered with Hasbro and eOne to bring this beloved game to market as a premium show for television.”

The hosting gig is part of a deal between eOne, which is owned by Hasbro, and Burton’s LeVar Burton Entertainment (LBE) to develop “Trivial Pursuit” into a game show format. Burton will also executive produce the series along with LBE’s Sangita Patel and Tara Long and Geno McDermott from eOne. No network is currently attached to the series.

“LeVar Burton has been an iconic member of American pop culture for decades from ‘Roots’ to ‘Reading Rainbow’ to ‘Star Trek’ and beyond,” said said Long, president of global unscripted television for eOne. “His love for intellectual curiosity paired with his ability to connect with audiences worldwide make him the perfect partner to bring Hasbro’s beloved trivia game to households in a new and exciting way.”
Hell, yeah! Forget the hot mess that Jeopardy! is right now. Bring on this show!

I think I've about reached the point with Amy that I eventually got to with Matt: she's sucked all the fun and suspense out of the show, and I'm just waiting for her to be gone. When the scores going into Final Jeopardy are so consistently lopsided, and the bets so huge with no risk of loss, what's the point?

Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will continue to split hosting duties until the filming for the season ends in July 2022, giving the producers plenty of time to find a new permanent host that they will fire after five episodes.
