Oh I've definitely found that aclohol hits me WAY harder if I haven't eaten beforehand. And given my very unpredictable eating schedule this is something I have to be aware of. Usually, if I've had a meal and remember to drink at least one glass of water I'm ok.

The only absolute hangover no-no that I can ever recall is to never use Tylenol, because of the toxic effect that the combination of alcohol and acetaminophen has upon the liver.

I only drink when I'm at a ball game. It's a limitation I put on myself so I don't fall off the wagon again.

No offense, but you're mis-using the phrase; "on the wagon," with its etymology stemming from the phrase "on the water wagon," means complete abstinence from alcohol. If you're drinking at baseball games, you're not "on the wagon." It's more that you're limiting your intake to avoid falling back into old habits.

You're drinking responsibly and in moderation, however, which is great.

I must be really weird, then, because whiskey is one of the only alcoholic drinks out there that doesn't make me want to puke.

Nah, not weird. I know plenty of whiskey drinkers. I just happen to think it's disgusting.
