Let's cut bits off of babies, yes?

If I have a boy, I don't think I'll get getting him snipped. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Hearing a baby scream during one of those procedures was enough, I don't ever want to hear it again.
If you have a child, you will hear it scream plenty of times if it gets circumcised or not. That's one of the few things they are really good at.

It's really not that kind of scream.

SmegAway is not for everyone. It is not for those allergic to hydrochloric acid, or those with functioning eyesight.

If your penis drops off seek medical assistance immediately, as this can be a sign of a rare but serious side effect.

Nonetheless, ask your Doctor if SmegAway is right for you.

What if you mix it with Zombrex?

Exactly, it's not.

I have a niece and nephew. I've heard plenty of screams. It's not the same at all.

Oh, well... If they scream anyway...

Hmm. Could a man who was circumcised at birth sue his parents for mutilating him? Has this ever been tried?

EDIT: Seems that it's a possibility, as yet untested, under Queensland and Tasmanian law:

The Queensland Law Reform Commission's 1993 research paper on circumcision confirms the possibility of circumcised boys suing doctors and parents.

It finds that on a strict interpretation of the assault provisions of the Queensland Criminal Code, routine circumcision would be regarded as a criminal act".

"Consent by parents to the procedure may be invalid in light of the common laws restrictions on the ability of parents to consent to non-therapeutic treatment of children."

SOMEONE TEST IT QUICK

Professor Turner says a High Court case ruling in 1992 (re Marion) - that parents do not have the right to authorise non-therapeutic, irreversible operations for their child - could possibly be applied to male circumcision.
The Marion Case (in which parents wanted to sterilised their intellectually disabled daughter) is mentioned in the The Tasmanian Law Reform Institute's paper on circumcision (Non-Therapeutic Male Circumcision, Issues paper no 14, June 2009). The full paper can be downloaded as a PDF file from here. It is a 66 page report.

Something interesting I stumbled across whilst doing some light afternoon reading re: evolutionary adaptations of the penis to displace previously deposited semen in the vagina:

In a study of 139 women who had experienced intercourse with a number of both circumcised and uncircumcised partners, O’Hara and O’Hara (1999) found most (73%) reported that circumcised men thrust harder and deeper, and used more elongated strokes than their uncircumcised counterparts. The majority of the respondents preferred sex with uncircumcised males, citing greater displacement of vaginal secretions and resulting vaginal dryness, increased friction, and physical discomfort during intercourse with men that were circumcised. Among the minority of respondents who preferred circumcised partners (N = 20), the most common reason given was prolonged intercourse. But complaints about the loss of vaginal secretions, friction, and discomfort were still prevalent in this group. Perhaps due to reduced penile sensitivity, circumcised men thrust deeper and withdraw farther and thereby displace more vaginal fluids. O’Hara and O’Hara conclude that the loss of vaginal lubrication and discomfort is “because of the tight penile skin, the corona of the glans, which is configured like a one way valve, pulls the vaginal secretions out of the vagina when the shaft is withdrawn” (p. 82) Therefore, although practiced primarily for religious and/or hygienic reasons, an unintended consequence of circumcision may be to enhance the semen displacement properties of the human penis.

So cut men do it longer, but uncut men do it better.

And if you're enjoying sloppy seconds and looking to impregnate the girl in question, cut comes out on top there too. Make a note of that.

I'm sure it was somewhere in his argument, but I honestly doubt it's worth trying to find out.

How does being cut increase the probability of impregnation?

If you're enjoying sloppy seconds, and not "the probability of impregnation" but the probability that you - rather than the lucky bastard who got there first - will successfully impregnate the girl. And it's right there in the excerpt: "an unintended consequence of circumcision may be to enhance the semen displacement properties of the human penis". Out with the old, in with the new.

Do you want to know more?
