Let’s see “monster maroon” the kelvin Star Trek 4

Seems I'm in the minority that a) love the maroons and b) would like to see a Kelvin take on them.

Why not? It's just window dressing at the end of the day. Fan service you might say. It's the story that's the really important thing.
I'm a fan who a) likes the Maroons fine, b) would prefer they not and ,c) will be fairly apathetic I'd they do. In abstract, I object to fan service for fan service sake. Which is exactly how the list by FederationHistorian appeared. No story reasons just "wouldn't it be cool if...?"

But, if characters and story are there then that's 80 percent of the way.

Or, I’m accounting for the fact that there will be a significant passage of time, to mirror the real world gap of filming between BEY and XIV (and explain away the whereabouts of Chekov as well due to the unfortunate passing of Anton Yelchin too) and realize that the movie will be set either,

At the end of TAS (2270)

Or

The TMP era (2270s)

But I also realize that the TMP uniforms aren’t popular, which is why I suggest and support the maroons being used, since its only a guide that they come into use in the 2280s. The reboot movies are set in an alternate universe, so the rules can be bent or broken.

And if the movie it going to have a time travel plot to mirror TVH, it is possible to have them wear the bomber jackets over the TMP uniforms.

Its really more brainstorming than listing fan service.

Cool. There's no reason to do a grab bag from TOS films. There is already design language in the Kelvin films. Why not take those and extrapolate from that design to show the passage of time.

I appreciate the brainstorming but starting from fan service is missing the point. At least to me.

We've already seen a deviation of uniform designs in the Kelvin Timeline. The standard duty uniforms in Beyond were altered and were more formal-looking than those in the previous two films--when the first images of the new togs hit the 'net, some initially thought they were the new dress uniforms. The actual new dress uniforms in Beyond were even more of a radical departure, and like the previous dress duds, did not follow anything we saw in the Prime Timeline.

All that being said, it's possible that the monster maroons may be just a Prime Timeline thing, and any uniform that comes after the Enterprise's five-year mission may be unique to the Kelvin Timeline, IMO. Maybe the producers of the next movie may not want the cast to look like space bellboys at all...

I'm having a mental image of Dudley Do-Right being drummed out of Starfleet for eating his peas with a knife. Perhaps at a state dinner with the Klingon Chancellor.

Kor

"I first came to Kronos on the trail of the killers of my son, and for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, I've remained, attached as liaison with the Federation Consulate."

I'm OK with that.

While I think there is a great deal of nostalgia and public familiarity with the TOS uniforms, I don't think the same could be said for the monster maroons. I'm really inclined to believe a fourth Kelvin Timeline movie will feature an all-new uniform design that may even continue the gold, red, and blue division colors in some minor fashion.

The only update I could imagine is adding little symbols all over the jackets
Guess I was partially right :D
But wine red on blood red just looks odd. It does show that ribbed turtlenecks still work, even when "it's 2022"
