Maybe he was about but the bulldozer ran him over?Funnily enough, Drexler never mentioned that in his blog. Probably because it never happened.

.. And today, despite all the good news, yet more Internet media sites claiming the Sky is falling. Lol
All the rest, including Moonves' personal involvement, is obviously fabricated or misremembered by the poster.
Scapegoating is more fun.ShockerIt's seriously doing my chebs in. such a swarm of negativity for the sake of negativity. Social media and clickbait has done real damage to how people perceive things. It's insane.
It's something that always bugs me. In my (former) line of work one man was always labeled as hating our product because he cancelled the UK's only TV show based on it. Complete nonsense - he cancelled because of the numbers, not personal feeling. Much like ST's cancellation. Fatigue and diminishing returns were to blame - not one person.
Yet, fans like a scapegoat :/
Clearly this is all money being funneled to Abrams personal accountEven more from Moonves
He's seen 2 episodes

I assumed they were early incomplete cutsWell they might be Pre-vis cut.
I imagine a trailer would be prepare for SDCC around all the usual media buzz there with maybe another teaser of sorts for the up fronts. Thats how I would play it, but.... I'm not a CBS executive so my theory's just wishful thinking![]()
I've been wondering about that, too. Maybe they'll hold back until STLV, where an enthusiastic response from the attendees is all but guaranteed.
I hope not just as that should be around go time for them! Plus I'm not so sure STLV would be the best place - a lot of fans online are capturing the "I'm angry and I dont know why!" route, so I'd guess SDCC with a more mixed, diverse and enthusiastic type of people might be a better call.
The media buzz of SDCC and being filled with fans of all types, not just Trek fans, will get far more eyes on it than STLV, especially if the aim is to launch around August/September time.
Huh? Every show has been markedly different from what came before TNG was nothing like TOS, DS9 tried to be very different from TNG. VOY was touted as different because the point was they were totally alone, with two different crews and philosophies on how far they'd go to get tech to get home faster (although it ultimately devolved to TNG-lite); and ENT was different then either the TOS or TNG eras.^ I completely agree about STLV. An event for hardcore, tricorder carrying fans is probably not the best way to ensure a positive reaction, especially if the show is markedly different from those that have gone before. They'd be far better off using an event like SDCC where the potential audience is the broader nerdery.

The fact is - NO new Star Trek series has met with overall approval out of the gate - every time a new concept rears its head you get plenty of:
"That's NOT 'Gene's Vision™"
"GR is turning in his grave"
"It violates canon/fanon/my vision of 'what Star Trek is™'"
It doesn't matter WHERE they show a trailer - Star Trek fans will love it/hate it/be 'meh' about it. So hell, they should just show the trailer at some marketing event, release it to Youtube - and the floodgates of opinion shall flow.
You know, I think you're right. A pox on you and your sound argument!![]()
