On social media, everyone's been posting Spock's funeral, but this is the moment that really does it for me...

My eyes fill up just watching it. Even more so now.

Very sad news. Star Trek was one of the only things that kept me going during my bizarre and painful childhood, and I always related to Spock the most. We've lost a star from the heavens today :(

Haven't been here in a while... this is sad news. One of my heroes and someone you always thought would be around. He'll be missed.

Sad news, but not unexpected after hearing about his condition. He's not suffering anymore at least.

The man was a legend as Spock, and as Leonard Nimoy. He'll certainly live on through the series and films, but also in our thoughts.

Now that made me tear up, similar to when Rik Mayall passed and somebody posted a screen cap of Ade Edmondson staring at the empty spot on the bench. :(

    Such sad sad news.

Oddly it was expected due to his illness taking a sudden down turn last week.

    Spock/Nimoy was/is Trek to me.

Its hit me hard. I am lost for words.

    LLAP!

    Re: Leonard Nimoy has died

    Indeed.

Feel like binge watching old TOS movies now. I'd heard his health was suffering, but I was hoping he'd pull through and get a few more years out of life. At least he made the most of it and thoroughly enjoyed it into his twilight years.

I wonder if TBBT will do a special episode showing Sheldon trying to cope with the loss?

From The Cage to Into Darkness, for forty-nine years, Leonard Nimoy as Spock was the one constant, the one thread that connected all of Star Trek together.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy.

It's like after all these years, you really see the human side to Spock come forward, no longer forced into hiding. He is in harmony with both sides of himself. He is at peace. May Nimoy be as well.

Very beautifully put dmcco. Its exactly how i have felt over the years. Star Trek was a great escape for years when things didnt go right for many of us. Like you that escape has diminished for me over the years and life has indeed gotten tougher. Very sad but true. But on the bright side Nimoy showed us to keep enjoying life to the end. So as i watch Star Trek till hopefully the end of my days i will continue to remember Nimoys last tweet and find comfort in that.

Sorry to hear this. RIP. :( I regret that I never had the chance to meet Mr. Nimoy in person. I met Nichelle Nichols and George Takei.
