Leonard Nimoy joins Fringe

Nimoy had more or less retired from acting before JJ asked him to do Star Trek. Its great to see him taking acting roles again.

DAMMIT!

I totally abandoned this show after the first few episodes. Didn't like it very much then.
Now that Nimoy is on board I have to play catch-up after all!
Please tell me it improved later on!

Well since William Bell is now being played by a name actor, does that mean he'll be the big bad?

At least he didnt end up on Heroes. I like the thought of him playing the big bad who drove Walter insane and stole all his ideas to build Massive Dynamics.

I liked Fringe at first, but it is getting very repetitive -- I hope the introduction of Nimoy as Bell breathes new life into it.

As Fringe is a FOX show (correct?), and as Anna Torv used to be Rupert Murdoch's niece by marriage, does that also bode well for renewal?

It's good to see him acting again, even if I don't watch Fringe. I might have to take it up when it comes out on DVD.

I like this move, but I had thought that they already had an actor in place to play Bell?

Yes, I almost gave up on 'Fringe' myself at one point, but things finally started to go somewhere back in December right before the show broke for the winter break. Since then every episode has been strong, and more mysteries have been revealed.

If so, he's SOL, kinda like the guy they cast to play Senator Organa in some of the unreleased deleted scenes of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. By the time Star Wars: Attack of the Clones rolled around, he was forced out because they replaced him with a bigger actor, Jimmy Smits.

It's good to see him come to life again. I always got the impression that his departure from acting was due to some sort of unresolved bitterness.

Too bad he didn't get a chance to do Boston Legal.

Don't worry guys if you are playing catchup - the show has improved a LOT.

There is some really interesting back story being developed, that is different from most SciFi shows.
