Anyway, the answer is "no". Emphysema is one type of COPD. There are other types.

Shatner quit during TOS. He said his daughters hated it, and it motivated him to stop.
I don't think PC applies to this, I certainly hope not. This is from the wikipedia:
Regardless of the exact terminology, regarding the Wikipedia symptoms - I'm simply saying that I see no important difference between COPD and emphysema. I'm just old enough to know that the term COPD didn't exist a few decades ago; that particular cause of death was called "emphysema." Again, is there any important difference between these two "supposedly" different smoking diseases?
I remember seeing Shatner smoking while singing one of his disastrous songs back in the seventies I think it was! He was like in a Victorian London fog with the poison! Could have been Lucy, in, the, sky, of, diamonds?

As someone who has never smoked, never tasted nicotine and been smothered in smoke (only when in the company of fools who do I suppose) I cannot understand why anyone in this day and age would breathe in that filth?
Although my Mother who was a keen smoker right up until 1980 tells me, you're never alone while you have a cigarette and it's a real friend cobblers!
