Leia Organa on Hoth

Wow this is just pointless............I going to ask a question then reject ALL ANSWERS!

I think someone is taking the idea that Rieekan was a "founding member of the Alliance" a little too literally. He may have been there since the formation of the Alliance, but then so presumably was Hera and I don't think anyone would expect her to be bossing Leia around on Hoth. Chopper maybe, but I doubt she'd pay him any mind.

But hey, since when do facts and critical thinking have any bearing on the subject!?

In the old days (1980-1983), Leia was at Hoth because she is an Alliance leader doing something at the Alliance base....as in it was the Alliance's only base. In the old Marvel comics version, she an operative that gets sent on missions. Sometimes by Rieekan.

However with the passage of time and canon volume, Princess Leia Organa is the de facto leader of Alderaan and likely the head of the remaining Bail Organa founded Rebel cells. Her position on the Alliance Council is a given after Yavin. The structure of the Alliance is becoming clear, yet we still have much to learn. We will likely see eventually in Star Wars: Rebels or similar item. We know in Rogue One that the Alliance was still highly factional and that there were still some hoping for a peaceful solution via the Imperial Senate, even against the Death Star, or the chance of surrender in the face of it. The disbanding of the Senate and the destruction of Alderaan ended that. It was to be war.

Rieekan became a general later on as the conflict increased, gaining command of Echo Base and later was in command of some survivors on the cruiser Liberty. He was still around during the days of the New Republic, so he obviously was not on the Liberty during the Battle of Endor.

From what I understand in the new Marvel comics, Leia is seen as someone who works with the council, goes on missions herself, and conducts diplomatic missions for the Alliance. However she does have a very large bounty on her head. Han Solo's might be larger only because both the Hutts and the Empire both set bounties on him, while only the Empire is after Leia and Luke.

As much of a mystery as what Mon Mothma was doing on Home One when clearly Admiral Ackbar should have been in charge! ;)

Wow. I see that one flew clear over your head. I'll try aiming a little lower next time and maybe you'll be able to get it.

Wow. Are you really that upset over my views regarding Leia's presence on Hoth that you had to resort to insults?

And yet, you still resorted to an insult because I did not agree with you.
Look mate, I really can't help it if you're slow on the uptake and if you find my being amused by that insulting, then I can't help that either. So you're just going to have to uptake faster or learn the difference between a sardonic comment and a flat insult. You plonker.

And your opinion on the thread's topic is still thoroughly wrong. That's just a fact. The real question is, what about Leia being in charge over an old white guy seems to vex you so terribly much?
