Legendary's Godzilla 2 & beyond - News & Rumors

Director Mike Dougherty wants to direct a prehistoric Godzilla film.

I like the idea of going back in time and telling creatures' stories from different eras. SKULL ISLAND was set in the '70s, but personally I'd like to do GODZILLA B.C., go back to ancient times and really see the Ray Harryhausen-esque world where primitive humans had to try to survive with these creatures. Maybe we'd get to see the first time mankind truly encountered Godzilla, and get to see how that relationship was christened.

Give it to me now!

I hate the fact that the closest IMAX would take longer to get to then the running time of the film is...
3D or not 3D that is the question... Being a fan of the classic films it doesn't matter however ;-)

Not only does it have an updated version of the original Godzilla theme, but it also has a new cover of Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla song, with vocals by System of a Down's Serj Tankian.

Going by rotton tomato's website that is

The reviews I've read say it's in the vein of the lighter Godzilla movies where the emphasis was on the monster action over the characters, but that the monster action is amazing. Which seems fine as far as it goes, within the accepted tolerances of a certain range of Godzilla movies, though I was hoping for the same kind of strong character work we got in Kong: Skull Island.

55% on rottentomatoes.com? After the first and Kong: Skull Island, that's a bit an unfortunate surprise.

I haven't read any of the reviews, mind you. I'd still like to check it out though.
