Legendary's Godzilla 2 & beyond - News & Rumors

I still find it odd that they named Watanabe's character after Daisuke Serizawa from the original 1954 film (and made him Daisuke's son in the tie-in comic) when his role in the story is more like that of Kyohei Yamane, the elderly scientist from the same film (who had an expository cameo in the second).

Maybe he'll still create the Oxygen Destroyer here as a last ditch weapon?

Maybe that's what Millie's character finds out.

Once all the titans are gathered they'll use an oxygen destroyer on Godzilla because he's the catalyst for the creatures waking up. Killing him is actually the wrong thing to do since he's the only one who can stop the others

I heard a theory that Charles Dance's character is actually Tom Hiddelston's character from Kong: Skull Island

I'm not quite sure why, but I get a vibe from that trailer he may not survive this one :weep:

Trailers always give that kind of vibe. The scenes are out of context and can be some of the worst moments. You never know, but I hope he makes it to the next movie. It's nice to have one character throughout.

In another website someone came up with a theory that Kong becomes King after beating Godzilla (Which is another movie.). Other people said that there is King Ghidorah so maybe he is king.

The name of the damn movie is GODZILLA: King of the Monsters! How stupid is our species becoming?

On the other hand, the title Captain America: The Winter Soldier did not mean that Captain America himself was the Winter Soldier. X-Men: Apocalypse didn't mean the X-Men were Apocalypse. For that matter, the newest Toho movie is Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle, and the subtitle refers to the entity Godzilla fights rather than to Godzilla himself.

:klingon:

Shhh with your facts and logic. :nyah:

But thanks for reminding me that the next movie came out. For some reason I thought it came out in November.

Comes out in Japan, so it will be winter or spring before it's on Netflix.

It's faster than that, since they're Netflix co-productions. Planet of the Monsters came out in November 2017 in Japanese theaters and January 2018 on Netflix, and City on the Edge of Battle came out in May in Japan and July on Netflix. So Planet Eater will presumably hit Netflix in January 2019.

That makes me think they'll be a much stronger connection between Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong than there is between the first Godzilla and KotM.

Stands to reason, since they didn't know how successful the first film would be so they designed it as more of a standalone, while the two sequels were developed together.
