Legend of the Seeker

I just started watching the show a month or two ago. I had never even heard of it until I saw someone mention it on here. I'm not sure I like the whole confessor thing, but I do enjoy a little medieval fantasy adventure. I like "The Train Man" wizard and the confessor lady looks pretty good when she drops that white overdress. The black sexy thing under it is way better. The Seeker himself seems kinda wimpy until you see him with his shirt off. Abs of steel. I find that I like him much better when he goes evil. It is the only time that he smiles. The rest of the time he is looking confused or expressing how they have to help someone right away. What do you think of the show?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the Sam Raimi connection. The show is filmed in New Zealand(So much better than Vancouver. Soaking wet Vancouver). So it is filmed in the same place as Hercules, Xena, and Lord of the Rings. Sam Raimi's brother has been on the show, but no Bruce Campbell.

When it was first mentioned here - by someone connected with the show - I had no interest. The big selling point they made was that two of the writers had worked on Voyager. I mean come on! Voyager? That's the best they can do?

But then I heard about the Xena/Hercules connection. And then I saw a promo picture of Craig Horner, shirtless, holding his sword.

I haven't missed an episode.

I won't lie, I tuned in because Craig Horner is HOT. And in almost every episode, his shirt magically disappears, ala Hercules or Captain Kirk. Only, Craig's hotter. And also in most episodes, we have appearances by folks who were in Hercules or Xena. The backgrounds are gorgeous. Well, they should be, it's New Zealand. But still .... I like it.

Plus, I still like watching Craig. :D

Im really liking this show also. There hasn't been one bad episode. I'm glad it was renewed for a second season. I think there is only one new episode left this season which airs in a couple of weeks.

Same situation with Bridget Regan for me. Too bad she can't appear shirtless. Damn FCC. Its not the best show, but it is mildly enjoyable and you don't see too many shows in this genre on T.V.

I'd go as far as to say it's one of the most mildly enjoyable shows on television.

Uh...the morality issues recent are quirky. Zed put a spell that would set anyone on fire who tried to enter a field hiding one of those boxes. Then later in the same episode he stops Richard from killing the Mord Sith who murdered Richard's mother.

Killing random strangers is okay. But REVENGE IS WRONG. Uh...okay, Zed.

Bridget Regan is HAWT.

It deviates wildly from the books, which sucks. They're long and detailed enough to have one book (or two if they must cram) fill out each season, even if they cut all the extraneous plot lines. But, whatever, I guess. I've read the books already, so something altverse-ish with the Sword of Truth series is interesting.

I wish her power worked like it does in the books, though. And that they didn't instantly fall in love. I remember that being dragged out a bit in Wizard's First Rule and her power was much cooler. It relied on her constantly holding back and had to build up again after each use. She could touch anyone she wanted, she just had to beware sex, because if she orgasmed, she'd lose rein over the power and mind wipe her partner. Their inability to go all the way was consistent plot point throughout the first few novels, playing out like the biggest unintentional cocktease on her part.

As I remember it, of course. Those she confessed couldn't do anything but exactly what she said and lost all personality, but also couldn't allow her to come to harm, which limited the orders she could give (3 Laws-like). This doesn't seem be to quite how it works on the show, in those eps I've seen, anyway.

And yes, Bridget Regan is gorgeous. If she had more decent pics floating around the web, I think she'd be a strong genre-babe. Maybe next season...

I watch mostly for her, but I frequently miss it - it's on at a ridiculous time, something like 10 on Sunday here.
