So with five episodes in are you still watching?

I really want to like this show, i really do, but it has started to diverge so greatly from the book that i'm not sure i can, or want to keep watching.

Sisters of the Light raising Kahlan? WTF? They are in the Palace of the Prophets in the Old World, an almost impossible trip to make, not a 3 day trek through the woods of the D'haran empire.

Argh, i might just keep watching a few more to see what else they butcher before giving up, but then i`m done.

I just blind bought the first book on Sunday without knowing it's got this TV show attatched. I will start it tomorrow after I finish Destiny book 2.
I'm in Taiwan though, so I will eventually have to download the TV show.

They're changing a LOT more than I thought they would, but still... its good. I like all the actors. A very entertaining fantasy show. :techman:

Yup. I am enjoying the show immensely. I really hope it is doing very well ratings wise in syndication.

it's ok, but as I've said in the other threads, not liking that they are winging it so much, diverging from the books. They're wrecking a lot of major plot points from later books in order to 'flesh out' this one (despite it being 800-900 pages long in the first place), so not sure how much it will even have left to work with later, and if we will even recognize later books in the series when/if they get there...

Already wondering where they are going with the end of this season, as they already destroyed the book that was pivotal to the entire plot so they could use 'kewl' special effects in the pilot. Even better, Richard having memorized that book is a large part of the plot for the last 5-6 books in the series...

Would people say this is worth watching if I've never read the book? Or know anything about it really. Is it a case of you guys not liking it much as it doesn't follow the book, or a case of it not being a good show?

I have no desire to read the books but this show is immensely fun and good return to the Saturday Syndicated Guilty Pleasure Hour of the 90s. For some reason, the New Zealand forest looks so different from the BC forests of Sci-Fi channel shows.

The fight scenes are cool, the girl is hot and a decent actress, the wizard is clever and the villains villainous.

Yup. What he said. Jut a fun show to watch.
