Legend of the Seeker-Jolene Blalock

broberfett

Vice Admiral
Admiral
She was in a couple episodes and she was looking pretty good. I enjoyed the abundance of Wizard lightning and fire in the newest episode.

When I saw the new Seeker I pretty much had him labeled as Dead Meat as soon as he showed up. His flying through the air body block was such a spectacular fail. It reminded me of the Dragonfly from Superhero movie when he dodged the flying blades and every single one hit him. He didn't even seem to try to use the sword to block the fire. He got to play the human torch for a few seconds.

Yah I just watched Perdition
and I'm kinda bummed on the way they handled Nicci as a one-shot character. She evolves quite a bit over the books and is my favorite character there, but she's killed here and has a 2-episode run.

I felt kinda bad for Leo because his stint as the Seeker was pretty worthless. He didn't really do any quests or anything, he got to have sex with Cara and then get burned to death.

BTW, if I'm ever in a fantasy world and on a quest and I happen to die by being getting incinerated by some fire/lightning type stuff... Don't give me a viking funeral aiight? Isn't that kind of pouring salt on the wound? I guess it's a Baneling worry, but damn it still seemed pretty shitty ;)

I so agree on that funeral issue.

Dead people have a way of returning on the show. Darling Nicci may be back.

Seems like Cara should've been able to defeat Nicci easily, all the others had to do was cover her. TEAM FAIL.

I was amused that RIchard's hallucination Seeker was a different guy, makes total sense, since he'd never met Leo.

I missed this weekends episodes, thankfully I can still possibly see part 2, but I was looking forward to two hours of Jolene. The days switched around on me, URG!

^ I'd say no because in the previous episode, Shota mentioned "Richard Cypher" as part of her prophecy. But does that mean that if Richard finally accepts the mantle of "Richard Rahl" that he can avoid the prophecy? I dunno how literal the series is going to be in terms of its prophecies.

well... my wife pointed out that there is at least one dark sister alive... the sister writing to them in the journey book about the confessor and company leaving the palace.... Looks like every other one died though...

but does the new prophecy trump shota's prophey... keep the mother confessor alive and the dark will not prevail.
but then again kill her and richard will surely take that stone on a long walk to see the keeper with it.

Yeah, I'm getting a little confused by all the prophesies at this point.

It was a shame that Sister Nicci had to blow up after only two episodes, but could she be brought back by the Keeper? I wouldn't be surprised to see her by Rahl's side in the underworld.

It was a shame about Leo. I thought we might get some good drama out of he and Richard's relationship, past vs. new Seeker. I guess the producers like ye olde reset button, though.

Too bad they basically wasted Nicci as a one-off, rather than just picking another of the Sisters of the Dark to use in such a fashion. I'm re-reading the entire series, and am currently half-way through Faith of the Fallen, and enjoying Nicci. And she's a character that gets better as the series progresses...

Well I think we all knew he was going to die, but I was expecting him to survive until near the end of the season. Two episodes is pretty lame.

I loved how Zedd was saying "We shall never forget his name." during his funeral speech. Seriously, by tomorrow morning I'll have forgotten it.

I wonder if they couldn't get Jolene as a full time character on the show; I would have enjoyed seeing more of Nicci a la "Faith of the Fallen" - she grew to be one of my favourite characters in the books

Okay,
So Nicci is back, but with a new actress. I was right. Blalock was more fun, though.

Also, it's come to this...a drag episode?

And damned, if wasn't still good. Some whimsy with the gratutious violence. Bruce Spence is an ugly broad and Kara is the "shit". Great final scene.

well... now they dont have to worry about paying a outragious fee whenever nicci shows her face....

I wonder if she will last the season.... she was a great character in the books.... I wonder if that's her destiny here?

I thought this week's episode was one of the best of the series thus far -- a perfect balance between humor, suspense, action and thoughtful commentary. The development with Nicci's character is certainly an interesting one and I'd say they've set her up to be the biggest villain that our heroes will have to confront on a (semi) weekly basis (considering Darken Rahl is stuck in green flames and the Keeper is, so far, a wee bit camera shy).

Anyone else notice the possible BSG homage? (It has to do with cara and where the person she was impersonating was from)

And from what heard about the books, the new actress is supposed to be a lot closer to the book Nicci.

One problem with the last episode, the King got off light, considering he was gonna execute 2 innocent women and make a deal with the Keeper. Fudging a-hole.
