^ Thanks! The embiggening was great. Unfortunately, with the weird transparency they've got going on, I'm still not sure how I'm supposed to interpret it. I guess the buildings/structures are real/solid, and the natural parts of the environment (trees, mountains) are fake/illusory/holographic?
The description of the plot involves parallel universes. Maybe this is a superimposition of the same place in two realities.
Or maybe it's just that the art style is deliberately non-realistic.
I had assumed it was just that we were supposed to being seeing the buildings through the leaves, but looking at the bigger version I see that the trunks of the trees and the mountain are also transparent, so I guess that isn't the case.
That was my assumption as well.

You know, I hadn't thought of that. Technically, my contract only obligates them to send me copies of my own book, but, just to be clear, I'm sure it won't be hard to get a couple copies of the sequels as a courtesy. We're all friends here.
As a practical matter, each of the books is covered by a different contract since we don't all have the same agents.

Fair enough. These are very much TOS novels, celebrating the show's 50th anniversary, but I'm glad you're intrigued at least.
