Fair enough. These are very much TOS novels, celebrating the show's 50th anniversary, but I'm glad you're intrigued at least.

I'm much more excited for this story than i am for the Star Trek Beyond film, for Trek's 50th anniversary.

I cannot tell a lie. That was Dave Mack's idea.

But glad you're enjoying the book so far! Although we each wrote our own books, the trilogy is very much a collaborative affair. We're talking lots of emails flying back and forth at every stage of the project.

Greg - are there any other recent TOS releases that it'd be fun to read before this, so as to catch any offhand references? I know that I don't have to, I'm just curious if it would be neat if I did.

Not really. It's mostly based in the continuity of the original TV show, taking place during Season Two, and referencing the events of "Errand of Mercy" and "Journey to Babel."

As to recent novels, Number One (Pike's first officer) recently appeared in my Pike-era novel, CHILD OF TWO WORDS, and she returns in this book, but there's no direction connection between the two stories, since CAPTAIN TO CAPTAIN takes place several years later.

Chapters.ca shows stock in stores around me, which is usually a good bet that they're on the shelf. I'm primarily a Kindle user, so it's having to wait until next week for me.
