Ledger wins golden globe

Glad to see he won. It was my favorite acting performance of the year so I really think he deserved it.

Heath's performance reminds me of Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp as), if you recall, Depp was actually Oscar nominated for it... It's that same kind of role, where audiences just like it so much that it becomes an iconic (and eventually a tad overrated) role.

I think Heath's oscar nomination may be in part because of his death but I think the GG one is legit (GGs tend to be more open to 'popular' stuff).

Incidently, since I don't see a general GG thread, I'm also really glad Mickey Rourke won for "The Wrestler". He did a PHENOMENAL job.

As one who hasn't seen Dark Knight yet, I was very impressed with the clip they showed.

I'd seen bits and pieces before, but not that one. Truely creepy character adn I saw no trace of HL in it.

I think it was earned, but might not have been given if he were still around, such is part of Hollywood's tinsel effect.

The pencil trick was dumb. A goon gets a pencil rammed through his skull and everybody in the room could care less. I know the goon trade is pretty cut throat, but you'd think at the very least one of his buddies would go over and check on the guy. And then for the rest of the scene everybody acts and talks like there isn't a dead guy lying on the floor.

I just think no one else wanted to get hurt everyone was kind of taken aback at what just happened and then the Joker started talking and everyone was wrapped up in the conversation.

Well, Demi Moore...the presenter of the award...said that they had "prepared" a clip. There was no editing done to the scene, but Bale sounded just like he did in Batman Begins, and not the Vaderish Robo-Batman from the latter half of The Dark Knight.

Yeah, I found a clip of the scene.

That was Demi Moore? Wow. She looked good!
