I'd say having Buffy suck your rotted, pale cock and tell you how awesome and heroic you are, when you obviously aren't, is a reward. It's no wonder Sarah Michelle Gellar called her scenes with Spike "degrading" and wants nothing more to do with that idiot Whedon.
This is news to me...link?

I had trouble with the one [in the sixth season] where Buffy had sex with Spike on the balcony while watching their friends. I really thought that was out of character. And I didn't like what it stood for. That was the moment that I had the most problems with.
You've mentioned how much you disliked the sixth season. Why was that? And how did you feel about Buffy's depression, and her sexual obsession with Spike?
It wasn't who Buffy was, or why people loved her. You don't want to see that dark heroine; you don't want to see her punishing herself. You want to see her killing vampires and making quips. It didn't feel like the character that I loved.
Wesley (but only when he was on Buffy) -- yes, he was written to be annoying, pompous, incompetent, and cowardly, so I guess we weren't supposed to like him. When he first showed up on Angel, I was extremely skeptical and apprehensive, but over the course of the series he changed so drastically (yet believably) that he evolved into arguably the coolest character in the Slayerverse.
Exactly. Throughout that whole episode I kept thinking 'why couldn't they have written a more likable character?' I mean, she didn't have to be a total sleaze for us to sympathize with Willow! Her whole motivations made absolutely no sense! It may have if they explained that being a werewolf and being out there and free felt good, or was addicting. But it was established on more than one occasion that people can't remember and aren't in control of their actions when in wolf form. So what difference would it make to her if she were sitting in a cage or free to roam about and kill???"Wild at Heart" is probably my least favorite episode in the entire series, and all because of Veruca. I hated her behavior, her demeanor, the whole manner in which she was presented.
Don't get me wrong, I thought Wesley was awesome, but I was annoyed with how the whole prophecy that led him to stealing Conner was handled. Then we were supposed to feel sympathy for him, even though everything that happened was 100% his own fault!I think it's wonderfully summed up in the exchange with Gunn:
"What happened to you man?"
"I got my throat cut and all my friends abandoned me."
Gunn should have replied "we abandoned you because you didn't trust us enough to not take things into your own hands! Why should we put faith in you when you could just turn around and betray us based on a few lines from some vague prophecy written centuries ago?"
I'd love to have seen how Wes would reply to that.
Well, that's just tough. Unless she has the title of writer or producer, she has absolutely no say in what happens on the show. Having buffy and Zander get together would have been disaserous, and I'm at a loss as to why SMG would ever want this to happen. She felt betrayed by what eventually happened. Which is why she's more or less cut her ties to Mutant Enemy.
I'm sure Whedon will do just fine without her involvement - unless he has plans on writing a future Scooby sequel.
Yeah because Buffy and Spike was universally loved. I remeber all the Spuffy hate sites that used to be out there. How many veiwers did they lose after season 6 again? Oh don't get me wrong, it still has it's fans. But they're mostly what David Fury called "a bunch of serial killer groupies".Well, that's just tough. Unless she has the title of writer or producer, she has absolutely no say in what happens on the show. Having buffy and Zander get together would have been disaserous, and I'm at a loss as to why SMG would ever want this to happen.
She has several films in the works, and a new show on HBO coming up. Her films have grossed over $628 million dollars. The Greatest and Bestest Movie of All Times That Is Going To Make Star Wars Look like A Wet Fart By Comparison(that would be Serenity) I'm pretty sure didn't even make half of what The Grudge did. I'm not a big SMG fan by any means. I just have far more respect for her integrity then I ever will Joss Whedon or his fans. Because, after all, she's not the one who fired long time loyal trooper Charisma Carpenter for the unforgivable and heinious crime of having sex with her husband so he could bring in the love of his life, James Marsters. That right there is how he earned my ire. Granted, it did lead to her Playboy spread(to quote Borat "Very Nice!"). So maybe my dislike for Whedon is misdirected only for that reason. And she's going to be in The Expendables. So again, "Very Nice!".I'm sure Whedon will do just fine without her involvement - unless he has plans on writing a future Scooby sequel.
I really don't care honestly. Either way, it would have been better then that crap finale. But I can think of a few reasons why it would be a good closer. How about having things come full circle? How about it being about the the main 4 again, rather then The Shirtless Wonder? How about Buffy finding someone she could actually settle down and have a family with? How about her not spreading her legs like a $2 dollar whore for the walking corpses she was trained and chosen to kill? Any of those are decent enough reasons I suppose. But I know we can't have goodness, decency, and happiness in this venue. It's nothing but unflinching, snarky, nihilism. That's what viewers want, right Joss? Fuck this hero nonsense.
Where's the applause smiley? If karma were real I'd have sex with it.
She felt betrayed by what eventually happened. Which is why she's more or less cut her ties to Mutant Enemy.
Your dislike for Whedon is clearly bordering on stalker-ish obsession. So maybe my dislike for Whedon is misdirected only for that reason.
Spike. I hate everything about him. I hate his rude, condescending, patronizing attitude. I hate his neediness. I hate his stupidity and immaturity, of which he is proud of. I hate his mediocre fighting skills which he delusionally believes makes him a legitimate badass. I hate the fact that he smokes and drinks, when being dead would give you no buzz from it. And from that we must conclude that he only does it because he's a big poser and does it because he thinks it makes him look cool. I hate how he always gets a free pass on every evil act he ever committed because a bunch of dumb broads on the internet think the actor who plays him is hot. I hate how he's never been punished for anything he's ever done wrong. I hate his magically disappearing/reappearing accent. I hate his blissful and willful apathy and unawareness of the consequences of his actions. I hate how every character is forced to put up with his shit, when they have no reason to. I hate how he ruined my two favorite shows. I hate how he has nothing but contempt for his victims. I hate his fans, as they've done nothing but set the feminist movement back 50 years by supporting such a boorish, mysogonistic thug. I hate how he dragged every character down into mediocrity with him.
Tera was boring and useless. Lesbian Willow never sold me due to the awesomeness that was Oz.
All The Slayerettes were one-dimensional and annoying. Anya was The K-Mart Cordie. Angel, in season one, was an Emo Tuxedo Mask. Riley, Xander, and Giles were characters with alot of potential that just never really grew all that much due to Whedon's dislike of normal, human characters. Buffy was fun and down-to-earth originally. Then she became whiny and self-obsessed. And then from that she also became jaded, cynical, ungrateful, preachy, moppey, bitchy, and a complete hypocrite. She became kind of like the Eliott Spitzer of Slayers really.
Connor- .....Oh yah... and he had sex with Cordelia! WTF?
The Greatest and Bestest Movie of All Times That Is Going To Make Star Wars Look like A Wet Fart By Comparison(that would be Serenity) I'm pretty sure didn't even make half of what The Grudge did.
If I recall it didn't even make half of what the animated Clone Wars movie made and CW was considered a box office disapointment.![]()
Please keep this on topic while you jerk your lightsaber. Thanks. If I recall it didn't even make half of what the animated Clone Wars movie made and CW was considered a box office disapointment.![]()
I did. I mentioned that she seemed to exist only as a center for the other characters without ever really being a character herself. She was whiny and self-absorbed, but you have to admit that represents 99% of the teenagers out there. I found it rather incredulous that someone as old as Angel would put up with her behavior half the time.Has anybody said "Buffy" yet? Because I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who never watched BTVS to see Buffy.
